1.3SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

  1. Components
  2. Decorative Clamp-on Snow guard consists of accessory clamp base, decorative snow bracket add-onwith (2) zinc-plated carriage bolts and (2) zinc-plated flange nuts.
  1. Design Requirements:
  2. System design: Design snow retention as complete system with all components furnished by same manufacturer.
  3. Accessories and fasteners: Capable of resisting design forces in accordance with applicable Building Code.
  4. Provide engineered system to fail point of all components, framing, decking, fasteners, roofing, and snow guards.

1.4SUBMITTALS

  1. Submittals for Review:
  2. Shop Drawings: Show locations of snow guards on roof and attachment spacing.
  3. Product Data: Include manufacturer's product data sheets on each product to be used and installation instructions.
  4. Samples:
  5. Individual Clamp-on snow guard sample.
  6. Color chips showing available colors.
  1. Sustainable Design Submittals:
  2. Recycled Content: Certify percentages of post-consumer and pre-consumer recycled content.
  3. Regional Materials: Certify location of material manufacturer and distance from manufacturer to project site.

1.5QUALITY ASSURANCE

  1. Installer Qualifications: Minimum 2 years experience in work of this Section.
  1. Recycled Content: Minimum [__] percent recycled [aluminum] [steel] [stainless steel] [copper], with minimum [__] percent classified as post-consumer.

1.6DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING

  1. Stack materials to prevent damage and to allow for adequate ventilation.

PART 3EXECUTION

3.1EXAMINATION

  1. Verify that roofing materials, framing, decking, and fastenings are capable of resisting design forces in accordance with applicable Building Code.

3.2PREPARATION

  1. Clean areas to receive attachments; remove loose and foreign matter that could interfere with installation or performance.

3.3INSTALLATION

  1. Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and approved Shop Drawings.
  1. Place snow guards level and aligned.
  1. Fasten to supporting construction.
