Deltania 22S

Deltania Manual in English

Cordage:

Following wraps, sheets and lines should be

Jib Sheet 9m

Main sheet 12 m

Reefing line 9 m

Halyards ? (Jib Up haul) 9 m & 7 m

Additional Rigging:

Boom outhaul 4 m

Back stay tension adjuster 4 m

Lazy case 10.5 m

Lazy linen 2 x 8 m

Mast Installation:

First pass case (line) of keel through, which comes out from the mast base, in the mast-lateral part of the mast folding foot, so that it is not blocked by the mast posed. Shroud batten, back stay and Forestay hang up. Please you make sure that the Forestay is correctly assembled (above at the mast the fore stay block under the Jib must be installed). Lead then 8 m the long Forestay by the incident block.

Now you lead by each of the two Lazy eyes (above at the mast, approx.. 50 cm under the forestay termination each 6 m in length is enough for Lazy lines (5-6mm). Knot both ends while mast is laying down, before the mast together and connect this knots with the mast-lateral Lazy case (8.5 m). Fix the 3 ends down at the mast, so that they do not interfere with other mast parts.

To placing the mast a person goes to the Forestay pin, another puts up the mast from the rear. Make sure it does not tilt to the side,, since this could damage the mast base.. Please always keep an eye out and slowly proceed, so that nothing sticks, or damages. This particularly applies to the connectors for the top lights, which is often damaged. Proceed thus sensitively and immediately everything examine, as soon as one notices that the mast sticks somewhere.

At the lower end back stay tags a simple, small block is connected with its eye to the e back stay support. Lead a line by this block at its end (that is approx.. 50 cm before the Port side stern cage likewise with the firm part of a further block one connects. Here now a further becomes, approx.. 1,5 m long line outgoing from the eye of the Port side stern cage over the block pulled, with which back stay can be implemented. The more strongly the wind, the more highly should be the back stay tension..

Now the shroud stretch, so that all are strained evenly and tight and the mast stands thereby at the same time straight.

Roller Reefing for Jib:

Reefing line by the outside guidance on the Reefing drum fasten. With some reefing drum the drilling in the drum on 65 mm must be extended, so that the provided Reefing line can be passed through. Also a thinner line can be used, these could however not so well be served. Now the drum in the clockwise direction approx.. 14 revolutions turn, so that the Reefing line winds itself on the drum. The loose end by the eyes of the star board safety posts lead and on the comb clamp at height of the cockpit occupy.

Jib:

Now hang up the running tie of Jib at the Forestay and this at the incident pull up. The sail neck must approx.. 10 cm under the top pulley, so that the Foot does not scrub at the railing. Secure on the cleat on the side of the Reefing drum with a short line to the handle fasten. Sufficient tension on incident give and it then to the cleat over the Reefing drum occupy. If you pull the Reefing line now, the Jib rolls itself up.

Tip: So that one does not have so much loose drop line after the reefing, it better only 7 m a long Fockfall is to be used and this for the purpose of the reefing then by 3 m to be extended, so that one can still seize it.

Genoa Sheet:

Now the sheet is fastened. The sheet between under and through Oberwant lead, then by the Genova carriages on the Genova rails, over the winch around and into the Curryklemmen present behind the winch occupy.

Mainsail:

Sail neck if necessary by means of shackles to a line fasten, which is led downward and fastened between mast and Luemmelbeschlag. Schothorn, also the plastic sander into the tree groove draw in and over the Unterliekstrecker with 2 detours into the comb clamp planned for it to the tree end fasten.

Main Pulley System:

Double block with the swivelling brass part to the tree shackles, which others (to also the at the beginning of the sheet with a Palstek is occupied) fasten to the main sheet pulley block on the cockpit floor with an U shackle..

Mast putting device (Jueteinrichtung):

The Juetbaum and the Juetleine are already installed and should be self-describing.

(Page 3 ref)

Lazy Jack System:

If the large is in the long run set, fastens you the two Persenningstreifen by means of the zippers to the Unterliek, the broader pages mast-laterally. Push the two glass fiber bars in and secure these with the insertable Klettverschluessen. Fasten now to BB one approx.. 2 m long line, end to the rear Kausch of the tree tarpaulin, the other one to the front, the middle remains free. You repeat this at STB. Now you fasten one shackle to the two ends of the tree-lateral Lazy case each and shackles with it e.g. 2 m long line so on that this can run freely.

Keel

: Apply a stopper knot on case of sword, so that the sword does not strike when fast letting down against the trunk, but its movement by the knot is limited. Striking against the trunk can lead to damage.

1. Technical terms and definitions

1,1 Category of the yacht is C offshore waters - yacht can sail in offshore waters, large bays, back-up lakes, lakes and rivers, providing the weather conditions are not more than wind force 6 and max wave height of 2 m . These may be only driven on, if the grosssegel is gerefft. With ungerefftem large the category D applies - protected waters.

1,2 danger degrees and marking

DANGER extreme danger, if the appropriate precautionary measures are not met, can be heavy injuries, continuing disablement or death the consequence.

WARNING danger, if the appropriate precautionary measures are not met, heavy injuries or death the consequence can be.

ATTENTION with order-adverse or application danger-bringing can be heavy injuries and damage or total loss of the yacht or its equipment the consequence.

2. Introduction - although the yacht is safe and its crew are positioned in the centre of the yacht and the sails are set for the weather conditions, the swell, the experience and condition of the crew, nobody should feel completely safe on the water. Even if the yacht fulfils the conditions of the category C offshore waters. Only the well practised crew prepared for constantly changing conditions can correctly sail. The sea and the water are not a natural habitat of humans and everyone should the there dominant laws consider. Before each travel one should get a weather forecast to make sure that the yacht is prepared and suitable for these weather conditions and within the helm & crews capability and are appropriately qualified. The operating instructions cover the necessary minimum of information about security, use and maintenance of the yacht, which are necessary for correct sailing. Read the guidance attentively and make yourselves you familiar after their reading with the yacht. Although this guidance is not a manual for sailing, manoeuvres or navigation becomes the respective sail federation (D: German Seglerverband A: Austrian sail federation or the representatives of the manufacturer of the yacht you gladly call the next sail school or a competent sail teacher. This guidance is not a brochure over behaviours, maintenance of the yacht or over the removal of problems with the yacht. When all work or changes at the yacht one should always contact qualified specialists. Make sure before larger changes at the yacht whether you do not cause substantial changes of the safety characteristic of the yacht. If you are not completely safe that your changes do not affect the safety characteristic of the yacht catch up you a written agreement of the manufacturer or its representative. In many countries for sails corresponding grants are needed. Make sure whether it the given yacht buy and in this country with it sails may. The international Kollissionsverhuetungsregeln (KVR) information about rights of way, light guidance contains uae. the world-wide validity possesses. Make sure you that you know these regulations and carry the appropriate brochure with sails. In the case this yacht your first yacht or another type than the yacht used so far is, makes sure you for own security and convenience whether you control all activities, which require the safe use of the yacht. Each yacht, independently of it, as strongly it is built, can be substantially damaged by appropriate use or by an untrained crew. Always adapt with engine enterprise the speed of the yacht to the swell, in order to avoid unnecessary loads of the yacht by the swell. KEEP THIS GUIDANCE AT A SAFE PLACE AND FOR HANDING THEM OVER THIS GUIDANCE THE NEW OWNER OF CASE THEM THE YACHT SELLING.

It is the height above the water line to the upper edge of mast. It is indicated without possible antennas or radar reflector, contains however the measure to the top plate. To be correct please measure any devices installed by you and note it in the owner manual. Maximum number of persons is a guideline demands that for each boat a maximum number of persons,to be on board. When recommendation is specified, if the boat drives range in its planned. This yacht is laid out for offshore waters, thus expanded journeys between the ports. Therefore the recommendation is the following: - during travels of several days in offshore waters any more than 5 persons are not to be on board. - with daily trips likewise any more than 5 persons should not be on board, for whom the place is sufficient into the cockpit. This number can be exceeded during short travels under consideration of the weather conditions and the maximum load.. Note: A life jacket should be available for all persons onboard.. Additional load: The guideline demands that the maximum additional load of crew one recommends. It covers 5 persons, personal equipment and provisions. It is noted on the vehicle identification plate. For the DELTANIA 22 this maximum additional load amounts to 400 kg.

5a. Slip:

The yacht with a conventional slip plant ashore taken must it thereby on the trailer. The sword is to be pulled up. The yacht is thereby in an unstable condition and must therefore after the sides against falling down become secured. It is therefore recommended to launch the yacht in a suitable transport and lagergestell.

If the yacht longer time is turned off ashore, pre and after-body must be supported effectively, in order to relieve the structure and to prevent a sagging of the overhangs. For a longer storage of the yacht in each case the use of a transport and a lagergestells is recommended.

Launching with Trailer:

Unity lips: With the vehicle to the uferlinie drive. Then the wire rope from the trailer winch the AHK fasten and with it the Trailer in the water launch. The tail does not have to up-swim necessarily completely, because by easy it runs off swings at the boat under simultaneous pressing over the keel roles.

After Launch:

The Trailer so far into the water drive, so that the Vorsteven comes into Trailerposition. This should not be possible with the towing vehicle, with the help of a tow rope the distance increase. With tightening the nose gear wheel is very much endangered and can cut, since the tow rope exerts pressure downward. Bring in addition the nose gear wheel in completely, so that the clutch straight comes so freely and screws on firmly. Thus the lever arm of the nose gear wheel doing TZE is far enough reduced.

Transport:

To transport the rules essentially apply, as notes with the slip. Additionally the yacht under figure eight and foredeck must be supported, in order to relieve the structure.

6 Deck plan

Deck plan The walk areas of the deck as well as the seat faces in the Cockpit are anti-slip.

Fittings and hatches all fittings of the hatches are manufactured from rustproof, sea water-steady materials. They are bolted and carefully in-sealed with the GRP deck. For the safe introduction of the arising forces reinforcement from sea water-steady aluminum are in-laminated in the deck at the assembly places of the fittings.

Note: With strong wind you control the tightness of the deck hatches in the cabin! The construction of units and interior fittings are manufactured from Mahogany. The access and bulkhead doors are manufactured from plexiglass.

Sea-railing The deck is equipped with nose and tail basket from Niro pipe. Between them the sea-railing with a continuous height of 540 mm runs. The railing feet made of sea water-steady metal are bolted with the deck. The railing supports are taken off and with two Durchzuegen from encased Nirodraht 5 x 12 with screwing tension adjusters provided

7 Short description

Type - the DELTANIA 22 is a slupgetakelte round frame gel yacht with a lowering rudder and a sword with a mass of 80 kg.

Building method

The yacht is manufactured in GRP building method. The trunk and the deck are manufactured exclusively in the hand rest method. The body is implemented below the wasserlinie in double shell construction, above the wasserlinie in massif laminate building method. The trunk through firmly in-laminated main Scot as well as ausgesteift by GRP special fittings. The deck is implemented in sandwich structure.

Preservation

Osmose protection can be ensured by the use of Isophtalsaeure Gelcoat and Isophtalsaeure resin for the laminate of the bottom structure. Additionally water-loaded ranges of the laminate inner surfaces with Topcoat can be conserved.

Stability shaping, weight distribution, dimensioning and ballast portion were brought to stability with the determination in beginning. The yacht has a sufficient stability. In the critical case the yacht still has with 90° inclination a putting up moment. For security the sword should be lowered in strong wind situations. This additional weight increases the putting up strength and reduces the risk of the Durchkenterns.
