Job Description (4-6 bullet points) /
- To support the Faculty Marketing Officer and marketing colleagues in gathering and sourcing information and content for projects, including case studies and news, to update the website.
- To specifically work on a web project – section of the website which is out of date.
- Identify content best practice among competitor universities and in other sectors in terms of their web presence.
- To support the development of the Faculty website by capturing the online needs of the Faculty, Marketing colleagues, and other support services, providing achievable solutions, including the development of editorial content and site mapping.
- To work with the Web team and Faculty Marketing Officer to provide data and/or reports, including web/Google analytics on current web pages, with recommendation on priority pages to be improved to support recruitment.
Skills preferred /
- Experience in a Web content-related subject.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Experience in forming, refining and executing creative ideas
- Good IT skills with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office
- Experience of using social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with people from both non-technical and technical backgrounds.
- Good IT skills with proficiency in MS Office and CMS applications.
- Knowledge of HTML and cascading style sheets (CSS)
- An understanding of the key principles relating to web design and page layout.
- An interest in User Experience in relation to website journeys.
Any other important information / With a particular focus on our Faculty of Computing, Engineering and the Built Environment (CEBE), the successful candidate will specifically help support the advancement of the University’s strategy, increasing awareness of the institution and the Faculty among key target audiences. They will be expected to liaise with Marketing colleagues, other support services and the Faculty to capture their online needs and provide achievable solutions.
The postholder will work with the Senior Campaigns Officer and the Marketing and Communications Manager to push forward the Faculty website structure and design, its user journey and content creation. This will enhance the profile of our courses and our reputation online.
