Advisor and Student Organization of the Year Nomination Application
Organizations may apply for one or all awards, but separate applications need to be submitted for each award. Also, please note that your application responsesmust be limited to no more thanthree (3) pages; if your organization exceeds this number you will be disqualified. If you apply for more than one category, each application cannot contain more than three pages of supportive documentation.
Deadline for submission isThursday, January 31, 2013by 5:00 PMand applications can be turned into 455 Steger Student Life Center Attn: Student Activities Board. Awards will be presented at the CSI: Celebration of Student Involvement (April 4, 2013)as well as the All University Recognition Celebration (April 7, 2013). In addition,two (2) members of organization must be present to accept award on April
Descriptions
Student Organization Advisor of the Year- This award acknowledges a member of the university community who serves as an Advisor to student organizations and has demonstrated a strong commitment to the organization’s development, mission, and programs.
Applicants for this award will be judged on the following: involvement with the student organization, understanding of university regulations, leadership development initiatives within the organization, and their influence on the mission and productivity of the organization.
Student Organization of the Year-The Student Organization of the Year Award acknowledges a student organization for their programming, service to the community, and influence on student life. Applicants for this award will be judged on the following criteria: organizational goals with an explanation on how they were achieved, the impact on the university community, and how the organization has improved its operations from the previous year.

Application for Student Organization Advisor of the Year Award
This award acknowledges a member of the university community who serves as an Advisor to student organizations and has demonstrated a strong commitment to the organization’s development, mission, and programs.
Applicants for this award will be judged on the following: involvement with the student organization, understanding of university regulations, leadership development initiatives within the organization, and their influence on the mission and productivity of the organization
General Requirements:
- Served as an advisor to the student organization for at least one academic year.
- Organization must be registered with SAB for 2012-2013 school year and in good standing with the university; please attach your organization’s current roster.
- Answer the questions below and please feel free to provide additional documentation such as awards, newspaper clippings, evaluations, etc.
Application Questions
- Please provide a detailed explanation on how your advisor has assisted your student organization with its mission, programs, and leadership development.
- Please share how your advisor’s guidance has improved your organization (i.e. internal operations, programming, etc.).
- In regards to question #2, how have these improvements benefitted the university and surrounding community?

- Organization must be registered with SAB for 2012-2013 school year and in good standing with the university.
- Please provide a roster of your organization’s current members.
- Answer the questions below and please feel free to provide additional documentation such as awards, newspaper clippings, evaluations, etc.
Application Questions
- Please provide a detailed account on how your student organization has influenced student life in regards to service to the community and programming.
- How has your student organization improved internal/external operations from the previous year?
- What were your student organization’s goals for the current academic year? How did you accomplish these goals?
- Please provide a brief statement on why your student organization should be awarded the Student Organization of the Year.
