Roanoke vs. Jamestown vs. Plymouth

Directions: Many European colonies started to compete for land in North America. Due to the defeat of the Spanish Armada Spain was left weakened and this opened the door for France and England. In this activity we will focus the attention on Roanoke, Jamestown and Plymouth colonies. You will do some “investigating” on these first 3 to settle in North America. You have a previous knowledge from the HW/textbook as well as some short video/information provided as links in this document and using the InstaGrok app uploaded to your iPad. Fill in the chart provided and then answer the question that follows. Discuss with your group and then you will share out the information you gathered with the whole class.

Break down of time:

●  Intro to lesson 5-10 minutes (make sure technology works)

●  Working with group to investigate and fill in chart 30-40 minutes

●  Share Out with class 20-30 minutes
