Some notes about teaching assistantship positions:
*All individuals selected for lab assistant, help centre tutor, grading, and electronics/data acquisitionteaching assistantshipswill be required to be available to attend some preparation meetings and training sessions with their supervisor. The timing of the sessions will be determined based on schedules of the TA and the supervisor. TAs are expected to be prepared for their duties as a TA. Time spent on teaching assistantships will be kept track of to ensure that TAs are being compensated fairly based on the allocation of hours for the semester.
**Those who are selected forAstronomy TAships must have taken both PHYS 1513 and 1523. The Astronomy TAships are normally allocated as 6 hours/week. The exact teaching duties of the Astronomy TA position may include tasks such as: grading assignments, leading observation sessions, leading in-class games/movie sessions, invigilating tests, tutoring Astronomy in the Physics Help Centre, and other duties as agreed to with course instructor. Exact duties will be arranged with course instructor, Svetlana Barkanova, in Septemberand January.
