Agenda item #1: Opening remarks by Member Secretary, TEQIP - BoG

Dr. K. S. Jayantha, Member Secretary & Principal welcomed all theHon. members of BoG and invitees to the meeting (the list of participants is annexed herewith).and briefed the members about the Agenda of the meeting. Dr. K. Chidananda Gowda, Hon. Chairman, TEQIP - BoGpresided over the deliberations.

Agenda item #2: Confirmation of Minutes of 8h TEQIP-BoG held on 31st October 2015.

The minutes of 8hTEQIP-BoG Meeting were circulated to the Hon. Chairman and to all the members of BoG. Dr. K. Gururajan, TEQIP Coordinator presented an Action Taken Report (ATR) to the recommendations made by BoG in the last meeting. Finally,the minutes were confirmed as proposed and discussed.

#3(c): Award of Research Assistantships

Two new students have registered for the full time Ph.D programme instituted under the TEQIP-II project, taking the total number research scholars to 9. These students are receiving Research. Assistantship of Rs. 22,000/- per month.

Based on the recommendations made by TEQIP-BoG in the previous meeting held on 31st October 2015,

  • (i) Research Assistantship (RA) has been hiked to Rs. 25,000/- per month from the previous RA of Rs. 22,000/- for two Ph. D students (i) Sanjay and (ii) Arpitha who have completed their Pre - Ph.D comprehensive Viva-Voce Examination.
  • Hon. Members were informed that Sanjay, M. R., a full time Ph.D student under TEQIP-II working under the guidance of Dr. B. Yogeesh, Professor of Mechanical Engineering has served as a reviewer for one International Conference held in India and has been chosen as a reviewer to review articles in two International Conferences being organized abroad. Also, he has been selected as a reviewer for the International Journal of Scientific Engineering and Technology. So far, he has reviewed 8 research papers.

Proposals were placed before TEQIP -BoG for approval.

Resolution: Approved.

# 3(d): Programs organized with TEQIP-BoG's Approval

1)ATwo - Day International Conference on " Intelligent and Autonoums System - ICIAS-2015" was organized on 28th - 29th November 2015 in the college. Dr. B. R. Sujatha, Professor of Electronics & Communication Engineering & Dr. G. K. Purushothama, Professor of E& E Engineering have coordinated this conference. Dr. ir. Rob. Fastenau,Dean of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics & Computer Science, Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands was the Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker. 52 papers were published in the proceedings of the conference.

2)A Two-Day Workshop and a One-Day National Level Paper Presentation programme was organized by for engineering students during 4th to 6th March 2016. These programmes were coordinated by The Malnad Technical Club. 60 students from various institutions of the state have participated in the Workshop. 38 papers have been published in the proceedings. Three best papers selected have been awarded with cash prizes.

3)Department of Civil Engineering has organized a one-day Workshop on ''Preparation for GATE Examination in Civil Engineering'' on 7th & 8th November 2015. Dr. Mohan Kumar Chavan has coordinated this programme.

4)Department of Computer Science & Engineering has organized a Two-Day Workshop on "IOT IDEATION BOOT CAMP" for the students of the college during 26-27, November 2015. Dr. J. Chandrika has coordinated this programme.

5)Department of Computer Science & Engineering has organized a Three-Day Training Programme on "Big Data Analytics & Cloud Computing" for the benefit of academically weak and weaker section students during 28-30, January 2016. Dr. J. Chandrika has coordinated this programme.

6)The Malnad Technical Club (Students Wing) organized a Two-Day Workshop and a One-Day National Level Paper Presentation programme was organized for engineering students during 4th to 6th March 2016. 60 students from various institutions of the state have participated in the Workshop. 38 papers have been published in the proceedings. Three best papers selected were awarded cash prizes.

7)The Literary Club (Students Wing) organized a Personality Development Talk on " Live, Laugh & Learn" for all the students of the college on 2nd April 2016 by Mr. Saveen Hegde, an Entrepreneur, Seven Intelligence firm, Bangalore.
