.The President Speaks…

From The Pen ofthe Director….

GreetingsBrothers and Sisters in Christ,

The Lord has brought us to the beautiful City of Orlando at this appointed time to bring Christian Education Ministries to its proper place of prominence in our Convention work and mission. I thank God for allowing me to be the leader of this great State Congress. I have worked and prayed as we approach this week.

The Staff and I have done our best to bring to you a curriculum and learning environment that will be both edifying and informative. Our focus, this week is to educate and equip Pastors, Preachers, Laymen, Missionaries and others, in the work of the Ministry.

We would like to thank Reverend Jesse Ivory, Sr., the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church Family of Orlando and Reverend James Wilson, and the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church Family of DeLeon Springs, for so graciously accepting the job of hosting our 38th Annual Session.

As we concentrateon our theme this week, "The Church…Powerful, Persuasive, Perpetual," 1 Thes. 1:1-10; 2:1-17; 1Tim. 3:14-15, we must agree that the church must be Powerful, Persuasive, and Perpetual in this generation. We must be eager to win over our sisters and brothers to help instruct them to God's will. Also, we must be willing to follow God's laws.

At this time, I would like to thank our State Convention President, Dr. Bartholomew Banks, Jr., for entrusting this job to me, and working so closely with me so that our Congress will be successful. Also, thanks to those persons for helping in securing our meeting accommodations, printing of our programs, and the financial team. A special thanks to my loyal and dedicated Vice Directors and Staff. It is a blessing to work with a group of "dedicated" Christians. I would be remiss if I did not thank Dr. Roosevelt Cooper, Sister Elizabeth Rosier, and all of the Youth Staff for their untiring service to the State Congress.

Please remember our purpose this week is to educate and edify our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. May God bless us to have a joyous and resourceful week.
