bpha ROLE PROFILE IT Project Manager
JOB TITLE: IT Project Manager / IT Project Manager / REPORTS TO: / Head of ITPOSITION LEVEL: / Level 3
JOB PURPOSE: To deliver and develop the IT project management function and implement effective, appropriate and pragmatic workload control and project management best practice within IT, therefore also improve planning and project management across all business units. This role will require strong engagement and stakeholder influencing skills in addition to strong project management experience in both logistical and development projects. In addition to responsibility for ensuring individual projects are effectively managed to timely delivery, at the correct quality and cost, the Project Manager will also act as a focus (in partnership with the other managers) for identifying, planning and controlling the IT team's project work stream.
The IT Project Manager will work closely with the enterprise PMO to report and manage the IT components of enterprise projects.
KEY RESULT AREAS / PERSON REQUIREMENTS
1. Manage resources and influence staff at all levels to ensure projects are delivered on, time, to specification and within budgets
2. Establish project management function and processes to identify, control, deliver, effort tracking and reporting on IT's project activities
3. Develop standardised, cost effective project management and reporting practices, based on pragmatic use of industry standards and which are suitable for business wide adoption.
4. Engage with the various business units to facilitate adoption and implementation of project management best practice and specific procedure
5. Work closely with business units to identify project business requirements, developing effective working relationships with staff at all levels
6. Manage multiple concurrent projects. Ensure these are delivered to time, cost and quality standards
7. Facilitate workload planning across the IT Dept.
8. Identify deliverables, estimate, create and execute work plans, and manage day to day project activities in conjunction with peer technical managers
9. Liaison and management of external suppliers
10. Identify and manage resources, skills requirements and manage appropriately for successful project delivery
11. Deliver formal project plans and process reviews
12. Ensures project documents are appropriate and complete
13. Manage risk, workload and contingency to successfully deliver projects
14. Report to Head of IT, bpha PMO and executive Leadership team on all aspects of project activity
15. Take ownership for implementation of the strategic project roadmap / Skills

· Ability to develop and adapt project management processes appropriate to the needs of the business
· Thorough knowledge of MS project or similar project planning tools
· Possesses a general understanding of client server, web & intranet architectures.
· Possess a general understanding of projects & processes related to IT Application Development
· Tactical and strategic planning
· Lead, and facilitate project definition workshops, assign actions and follow up to completion
· Production of typical project management documentations, such as stage reports, PIDS, Gantt charts etc
Knowledge/Experience
§ Experience and formal training in industry standard project management methodologies (Prince, Six Sigma etc.)
§ Experience of both agile and waterfall development methodologies
§ Experience of whole project lifecycle. Able to operate from conceptual design stage to project delivery and closedown.
§ A proven track record of software development and/or infrastructure project delivery in an IT Dept. (2-3 years+), preferably with exposure to the housing sector
§ Experience of major logistical or infrastructure projects
§ Experience of Microsoft Dynamics CRM or office 365 rollouts

Qualifications (if any) (E) Essential or (D) Desired
· Accreditation in an industry standard project management methodology. E.g. Prince II, Agile, Scrum. Six Sigma (E)
· A degree in computer science, or related discipline
Or
· Extensive professional experience in a variety of roles and sectors, in project management and Project delivery (E)
