Have students practice carving soap to develop manual dexterity

skills. Have students practice flossing or using a toothbrush correctly.

EMT—emergency medical technician, paramedic

Practice wrapping a hand, arm, and ankle with bandages.

Nursing—nurse, medical assistant

Teach students how to take temperatures, blood pressure, pulse, etc.

Physician—Doctor, physician’s assistant

Have students listen to breathing and heartbeats using a stethoscope.

Pharmacy—pharmacy technician

Have students count out “prescriptions” using M & M’s.

Therapeutic Rehabilitation/Exercise—physical therapist aide

Have students take a fitness test for flexibility, coordination, equilibrium,

speed, agility, strength and endurance. Bring physical therapy

equipment and have students guess what it is used for.
