SUFFOLK COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE APPOINTS GAIL E. VIZZINI
AS VICE PRESIDENT FOR BUSINESS AND FINANCIAL AFFAIRS
Selden, NY – Suffolk County Community College is pleased to announce thatGail E. Vizzini has accepted the appointment to the position of Vice President for Business and Financial Affairs. In this position, Ms. Vizzini will serve as the College's Chief Financial Officer, with responsibility for developing and managing the College's operating and capital budgets in order to support implementation of the institution's strategic initiatives and priorities. Her appointment becomes effective on December 10, 2012.
Ms. Vizzini possesses over thirty years of progressively responsible experience in public finance and in operating and capital budgeting. As Director of Legislative Budget Review for the Suffolk County Legislature, she directed a professional staff with responsibility for review of the $2.7 billion annual County operating budget. In that position, Ms. Vizzini was also responsible for the review of the County’s $417 million capital budget and program, which includes the College’s capital projects.
Dr. Shaun L. McKay, President of Suffolk County Community College stated,“Ms. Vizzinihas extensive experience in municipal budgeting and administrative experience overseeing staff and operations of the Legislative Budget Review Office. She will bring a unique combination of fiscal and budgetary expertise, along with demonstrated skills in presenting fiscal and budgetary information, making her a strong addition to the College’s senior administrative team.”
Ms. Vizzini holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Long Island University - C.W. Post Campus, and a B.A. in Psychology from Hofstra University.
