Designation: Regional Innovation Marketing Manager-
Role requirements: On a Budget of £1.4M, I was accountable for driving growth (volume and value) for the beer and non- alcoholic drinks brands across Eastern Africa. I achieved this by:
· Using analytical skills to generate consumer driven strategies based on global and local trends, to ensure that we exploit customer and consumers information effectively;
· Aligning key stakeholders on how to create a value-based business perspective with full appreciation of commercial consequences;
· Understanding what drives and motivates internal & third party teams and constantly striving to build great productive relationships and breaking down performance barriers.

November 2007- to June 2008
Designation: Innovation Marketing Manager
Role requirements: On a budget of £0.9M, I was responsible for supporting the development and execution of Diageo’s innovation program for Africa through entering new geographies and tapping into new consumer and business opportunities. I achieved this by:
· Aggressively driving strategic and commercially viable Pan African projects in order to identify new business opportunities and assess how to unlock future potential;
· Formulating and ensuring the implementation of marketing, research and trade plans to drive opportunities identified;
· Delivering effective management of risk, governance, compliance and control issues as part of a team, ensuring adherence by all.
Achievements:
· Successfully led a team working across Africa and Europe to test market and launch a new soft drink, Alvaro in the East Africa Region which gained 2% market share of soft drinks within the 1st year.
· Extended the business footprint into realising potential in weak business segments and increased their contribution to total business volume by 8%.
· Whilst with Diageo Plc, London, I led cross functional project teams constituting of supply, technical development, procurement, brand, legal, research and external agencies teams in the planning and execution of three substantial projects in East & West Africa in technical and product innovation.

Designation: Group Product Manager; Consumer Healthcare –Enterprise Brands (East Africa).
Role requirements: On a budget of £0.4M, I was responsible for influencing the strategic brand planning across the business by converting key market research and consumer insights into sustainable brand programs. I achieved this through:
· Working collaboratively with external partner agencies to create annual brand plans, market-led campaigns and promotions and conducting evaluations on their effectiveness;
· Tracking and evaluating marketing plans including monthly cost-centre sign-off and quarterly forecasting of volumes;
· Creating distinct brand- customer connection through identifying and rolling out suitable event sponsorship programmes.
GlaxoSmithKline East Africa Ltd
March 1999-to Feb 2003
Designation: Senior Medical Sales Representative& Product Trainer (East Africa).
I was responsible for:
· Driving performance against new account recruitment targets for hospital and pharmacy channels;
· Creating an outstanding sales force to influence key opinion leaders prescription habits;
· Creating a customer loyalty programme to maintain our market leadership position.
Achievements:
· Successfully turned around Enterprise category of brands from being the 4th largest to 2nd largest profit contributor for the business in two years (42% growth in contribution).
· Received the General Manager’s award for outstanding performance – achieved highest ever-recorded growth experienced in 1 year (19%) for Augmentin and graduated 88% of sales team through GSK Training Academy.
· Pioneered the Hedex Bodaboda Regional Cycling Competition which grew brand annual sales by 26%.
