Description The Town of Windsor’s Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is hiring a part-time College Intern to assist with various projects related to the downtown area. The DDA works with local merchants, the Chamber of Commerce, the Town of Windsor, and other various parties for the improvement of the DDA area through infrastructure improvements, marketing, events, new business recruitment and business retention. This position will: Establish and maintain an address list of all property owners and lessees of DDA property; this will include postal service addresses and email addresses; Assist in the creation and distribution of a monthly DDA e-newsletter; Help promote and track activities for events in the DDA; Attend DDA regular and committee meetings and assist as needed; Other projects as assigned. This is a part-time, paid ($9 - $10.34 per hour) internship, working 10 hours/week.
Qualifications: Current college student or recent graduate with courses taken in a field related to business, marketing, public administration, urban planning, political science, or other related programs. Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to interact easily with the public.Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Experience using social media platforms.Ability to work independently and efficiently and take initiative.Able to pass background check.

Description: Provides support to the Finance Manager and members of the Finance Department with administrative and financial related duties including sales tax research, general ledger accounting, and accounts payable. Reconciles transactions and accounts in general ledger; reconciles various bank accounts; provides backup for accounts payable function; assists with annual budget process; assists with annual audit process of City financial records; assists in policy research related to the City’s sales tax base; assists in suspending and enforcing policies, procedures, ordinances and regulations; responsible for completing research and special projects upon request; provides support and back-up for other Finance staff; and performs all other financial and/or accounting related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications: Completion of at least sophomore year from an accredited college or university in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; currently attending accredited college or university; skill in Excel spreadsheet application; ability to use initiative and independent judgment; ability to prioritize work to meet established deadlines and ability to demonstrate a high degree of accuracy; knowledge of operations in a general office environment, knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, skill in the use and operation of automated financial systems, and skill in posting, balancing and reconciling transactions in a general ledger. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
