Are you interested in sharing your experiences with your emotional support animal?

If so, please read below about an opportunity to participate in a new research study!

Study Explanation

The researcher wants to learn about the experiences of people who use prescribed emotional support animals. The researcher is interested in how (in what ways) people use prescribed emotional support animals, what prescribed emotional support animals mean to the people who use them, and what have been the reactions from others received by people who use prescribed emotional support animals. In order to obtain this information, the researcher will interview approximately ten to twelve people who want to participate in the study. The interviews will be held at a library local to the participant and will a last approximately one to two hours. There will be no charge to participate in the study, and the researcher is not being paid by any entity to conduct this research. You have been invited to participate in this study because you were identified as someone who uses a prescribed emotional support animal. You can also provide this flyer to other people whom you think may qualify to participate. Participation in the study is completely voluntary. Whether or not you choose to participate in the study will not impact your involvement with Citizens for Pets in Condos.

Participant Eligibility

In order to be eligible to participate in this study, you must:

Be actively using a prescribed emotional support animal for more than two months

Have a prescription for your emotional support animal that is not more than one year old

Have a prescription for an emotional support animal that was provided by a Licensed

Mental Health professional or medical doctor

Not not have a history of psychosis or severe mental illness

Be a resident of Miami-Dade, Broward, or Palm Beach County

Be eighteen years of age or older

Potential Benefits

Participants may find it enjoyable to discuss their experiences with prescribed emotional support animals. Additionally, all participants will receive a $25 Petsmart gift card to enjoy with their prescribed emotional support animal 
