Senior Foods-MyPyramid.gov activity

  1. Log into the school computer.
  2. Go to the website www.choosemyplate.gov .
  3. Click on ‘Super Tracker & Other Tools’.
  4. Click on option that reads ‘Super Tracker.
  5. Go to ‘Create Profile’.
  6. Under step : 1 Fill out the ‘Personalize your profile’ Age, Gender, Height, and Weight.
  7. Under step 2: Fill in a User ID-you MUST use the following format and password for this assignment:
  8. User Name FirstnameLastnamenospaces (My son’s would be AndrewSeramur)
  9. Password SENIORFDS
  10. Create a security question and hit SUBMIT.
  11. Click on ‘Food Tracker’.
  12. Change the entry date to the first day you recorded food intake in class. If you did it correctly, the date should be 9/26/13.
  13. Enter food items into the system-you will find that you can type in a generic name, for example: pizza and then select a certain type/brand. Be as accurate as you can with the foods you consumed.
  14. After you enter each food item eaten you must choose amount to be more specific about the foods you ate. THEN HIT ADD!!!!
  15. NEXT-go to the DATE ON the top and click on that so you can change to the next day you recorded….continue with the steps 7-10 for each day you recorded.
  16. When all your food is entered FOR THE 7 DAYS: click on ‘MY REPORTS’.
  17. Click on ‘Food Groups and Calories’, set dates for the seven days you recorded, hit create report and print that page off. Turn into Ms. Seramur.
  18. Go back to ‘History Charts’ in the reports section.
  19. Click on ‘Total Calories’, don’t forget to set the dates and print that page off. Turn into Ms. Seramur.

For the following please fill in graph with YOUR results, found under History Charts, by clicking on each food group on the left side bar!

  1. Click on Grain on the side bar-what does your Grain trendline look like?

20-  22. Draw charts on the back to show your Fruit, Milk, and Meat and Beans trendlines.

21-  Click on Fruit on side bar-what does your Fruit trendline look like?

22-  Click on Milk on side bar-what does your Milk trendline look like?

23-  Click on Meat and Beans on side bar-what does your Meat and Beans trendline look like?

24-  If you have time, you can enter your physical activity options-there are many-including the daily grooming choices!
