Prerequisites for Installation

Before installation, check your computer to ensure the following:

  • You must have Administrator Privileges on the machine to install the Price Administration Software.
  • The Screen Resolution must be 1024 X 768.
  • The locale settings for the current machine must match with the selectedlanguage in the setup.
  • Any previous version of the ICP-Price collection module must be uninstalled from your computer before continuing.

Hardware
Intel Compatible PC - Pentium III or higher
RAM Minimum is 128 MB, recommended is 256 MB.
A minimum of 100 MB free disk space is always recommended for better performance.
Software
One of the following:
Microsoft Windows 2000 (Service Pack 4) or higher
Microsoft Windows XP (Service Pack 1) or higher
Microsoft Windows 2003 or higher
Microsoft Office Excel 2000 or higher

1. Initiate Installation

Double click the setup.exe located in the PCM\Install CD folder on your CD to initiate installation.

2. Welcome Screen

  1. The following screen Appears. Select a language to install the Price collection Module and click the OK button. Please note that the entire setup instructions will change to the selected language.

(The supported languages are Arabic, Chinese, English, French and Spanish).

Please note that the setup will not proceed on the following conditions,

  1. If the Screen Resolution is not set to 1024 X768 pixels
  2. If the locale settings of the current machine doesn’t match the selected language.
  3. If the support folders such as MSDE, MDAC and SQLXML required for the installation doesn’t exist.
  4. If it detects a version less than of Microsoft Excel 2000.

If the required prerequisites are met, the setup will display the following screen

  1. Click Next to continue. Click Cancel to exit setup at any point in time.

3. Choose Application Variant

The options are - ICP and CPI. Select ICP- Price Collection Module option and click next.

4. Choose Installation type

i. Select one of the options - Complete installation or ClientInstallation only.

If Complete Installation is selected the application will install Microsoft Desktop Engine (MSDE) and the stand-alone database in your machine.

If Client Installation only is selected the files necessary for you to connect to a central database on the server will be installed.

5. Select destination directory

The destination directory is the place in your machine where the application will be saved.

i. Browse for the path by using drive and folder controls.

ii. Click Next to continue.

Click Back to go back to the Welcome screen.

Click Cancel to exit setup at any point in time.

6. Select Start Menu folder

This is the folder under the Start -> Programs menu where the shortcut to launch the application will be saved.

i.Change the name of the application by typing over it if necessary.

ii.Click Next to continue.

iii.Click Back to go back to destination directory selection screen.

iv.Click Cancel to exit setup at any point in time.

7. Installation Summary

This screen displays a summary of the options selected in the previous screens.

i.Click Install to initiate installation.

ii.Click Back to go back to Desktop Icon selection screen.

iii.Click Cancel to exit setup at any point of time.

8. Prerequisite Software installation

Setup will detect the absence of the following software’s and install the same

  1. MSDE (Microsoft Desktop SQL Engine)
  2. MDAC (Microsoft Data Access Components)
  3. SQLXML (Microsoft SQLXML Engine).

The following screen appears indicating the installation.

MSDE:

At the end of the MSDE installation, always click the “NO” button to suppress the restart of MSDE.

SQLXML:

Installation Aborted

Setup detects the list of prerequisite software required for the successful installation of Price Administration Module and installs the same if found absent. If for some reasons, the installation of any one/more of the prerequisite software is/are failed, the setup will display the following message and abort the installation. The user must install the aforesaid software(s) outside the installation by invoking the same from the Install CD folder. After the successful installation of the same, the setup will detect and complete the installation.

For e.g., if the SQLXML Version 3 installation is failed due to some reasons, do the following.

A) Browse to the install CD folder and double click the directory called support.

B) Double click the SQLXML.msi and install the same.

After installing the SQLXML successfully, invoke the setup.exe from the Install CD folder to complete the Price Administration Module Installation.

9.Creation ofSuper user for the Complete Installation option

This screen allows the user to provide the credentials of the Administrator and create the Super user/Admin account. The Super User is the Administrator with full access rights to perform all activities in the Tool Pack, including the set up, administration and management of the Price Collection Module and the Price Administration Module.

  1. Type in your name, e.g. John, Abdul, Meena.
  2. Type in a chosen password (no more than 8 characters).
  3. Click Continue.

10. Configuring Client- only- details for the Client Only Installation option

You will see this screen if you have chosen Client Installation Only in Installation Type (step 4).

  1. Type in your Database server name.
  2. Type in your Database name.
  3. Type in the User ID to log into the above Database.
  4. Type in the required password.

11. Finish Installation

  1. Always select No when the message on the screen asks if you would like to restart your computer.
  2. Click Finish to complete the installation.
