PGA Patron Partners to Engage Fans at Valhalla Golf Club
LOUISVILLE, Ky.–Ticketholders attending the 96th PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club from Aug. 4-10, can enjoy several fan-friendly experiences each day presented by the PGA of America’s Official Patron partners – Mercedes-Benz, OMEGA and Samsung.
The Mercedes-Benz Performance Center at the Main Spectator Entrance will display the newest vehicles and technology from the pioneering designer of sophisticated luxury and performance for the road. Fans can also get behind the wheel of a Mercedes-Benz using the on-site simulator, which will be tested in the Mercedes-AMG Driving Challenge by major champions Adam Scott on Monday, Aug. 4; and Martin Kaymer and Louis Oosthuizen on Tuesday, Aug. 5. Visitors can pit themselves against these Mercedes-Benz brandambassadors’ virtual lap times, and win daily prizes for the fastest lap of the day. Meanwhile, a Mercedes-Benz vehicle exhibition will be highlighted by a preview of the new S-Class S 63 AMG Coupé.
A dedicated Mercedes-Benz Loyalty Lot for owners will offer daily shuttle busesto the Main Gate at Valhalla. From Wednesday, Aug. 6 to Saturday, Aug. 9, a Mobile Performance Center will alsobe available in the lot featuring a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van fitted with high-tech golf-teaching technologies and PGA Professionals from GolfTecavailable to help improve game skills.
Fans near Valhalla’s Main Gate canenjoy the OMEGA Exhibition, where there will be a one-of-a-kind lunar and space display, and a James Bond 007 area. Theexhibits celebrate the 45th anniversary of OMEGA’s presence on the Apollo 11 moon module and the appearance of an OMEGA timepiece in each Bond movie since 1995, respectively. As well, spectators canreview OMEGA timepieces and their rich history, along with a showcase of brand ambassadors.OMEGA clocks will be noticeable throughout Valhalla, and the PGA Champion will be presented with an engraved OMEGA timepiece on Sunday, Aug. 10.
Also located at Valhalla’s Main Gate, TheSamsung Experience will allow spectators to discover how Samsung’s products bring them closer to the game of golf through product demonstrations; a viewing gallery with a live broadcast of the PGA Championship on a super-sized, crystal-clear 16-foot curved display ofnine new 65-inch Samsung HU9000 Curved UHD TV screens (as part of 23 UHD TVs on site); and behind-the-scenes content on the new PGA Championship Android App. Meanwhile, Samsung owners can use rest and recharge areas that feature charging stations, Samsung headphones and speakers, as well as see the latest Galaxy Tab S devices and NX compact system cameras.
In addition, fans can take part in the new Galaxy Smartphone Selfie Zone, where they can capture their very own PGA Championship moment with family and friends. The Samsung Shot Challenge will also enable fans to take a real swing, while a photographer snaps pictures with a Samsung NX camera.
