Induction to Mucky Boots Kindergarten

-Open days and events will give families and carers the opportunity to visit our setting and meet with staff informally.

-The parent/carer handbook will be available to download from the Mucky Boots website.

-Parents will be invited to attend part of a session with their child in advance of the start date when any further induction plans will be discussed with a senior member of staff. This will ensure the best possible settling in period for both child and carer and provide an opportunity for partnership working between families and Mucky Boots, ensuring the best possible start for children.

-Above all, we want our children to feel nurtured and secure, therefore this will always be our priority when developing an induction plan.

-Children will be presented with their welcome pack previous to their first Kindergarten day.

Welcome pack will contain:

Waterproof dungarees and jacket, backpack, lunchbox and ice packs.

-We will stagger the intake of new children to allow for staff and children to form relationships.

-We will provide ongoing feedback to parents about how their child is settling.

-We will make every effort to visit any other settings your child attends to work towards a collaborative approach to your childs care and education.

-We will invite the staff from other settings to visit Mucky Boots and open up appropriate training events to our partners.

Transition to another setting

-When a child is transferring to a different nursery or moving on to school, we will invite the staff to visit Mucky Boots in order to observe your child at play and discuss the transition with our staff.

-We will invite staff from our feeder schools to our open days in order to form collaborative working relationships.

-We will send a summary of your childs progress to their new setting.
