  1. PUNCTUAL…Be here
  1. Come to school daily and to class on time
  2. Take the initiative to start the warm-up on the board
  3. Complete warm-up BEFORE time expires – Check your work and wait patiently
  1. PREPARED…Bring supplies
  1. Pencils are sharpened during homeroom
  2. Have your own notebook paper, pencils, and homework assignment with you DAILY
  3. Your notebook is neat: Papers are hole-punched, headed appropriately, and behind tabs
  4. You must bring your agenda to class daily
  1. ON TASK…Stay focused
  1. Discuss “Social Studies” ONLY during class time – No “social” talking during class
  2. Stay in your seat unless you have permission **hold all trash until the end of class**
  3. Stay focused on the topic and help others in your group work the assignment (compare your answers, discuss your thinking, gain understanding)
  4. Listen attentively and actively during instruction – take good notes
  5. Participate in class – ask questions for better understanding
  6. Listen to others explain their thinking to various assignments and compare the thinking process
  7. No playing or distracting others with noises
  1. CONDUCT…Set a good example
  1. Only ONE person may speak at a time – please wait patiently until it is your turn to speak
  2. Raise your hand to ask questions or give a response
  3. Always use good manners (please, thank you, you’re welcome, excuse me, may I, etc.)
  4. Have a positive academic attitude
  5. Make “transitions” between activities as quickly and quietly as possible
  6. Be respectful of yourself, others, and property at all times
  7. Address any class concerns (grades, classwork, etc.) to the teacher in a respectful manner and at an appropriate time (ex: before or after school, end of class – not during class)
  8. Conflicts are to be handled in a timely manner – be proactive and keep all necessary adults informed such as counselors, mentors, assistant principal, parents, and teachers
  9. Follow the instructions of your teacher and adhere to the Student Code of Conduct Book
  1. CLASSWORK/HOMEWORK…Do your work
  1. Record all homework assignments in your agenda before leaving class
  2. Complete all assignments on time (if absent, see Mr. Sapp during homeroom)
  3. Show neatness and effort – PENCILS only
  4. Put your name, date, class, and assignment title on all papers
  5. Turn in all work by the due date
