TodoallthosethingsandtotakethoseresponsibilitiesusuallyassociatedwithateachingAssistant

inparticular:

•ContributeflexiblyacrosstheschoolandtheSpanishdepartment.

•WorkwiththeteamintheSpanishDepartment,collaboratingwithteachingstafftosupporttheplanning and deliveringofSpanishlessonsandanyotherlanguage-basedactivitiesattheschool.

Helpwithcreatingteachingmaterials,organizinglanguageexperiencesforstudentssuchaslanguagecompetitions,preparingdisplaysofstudents'workandwithphotocopyingorfilingwhenrequired.

•Attendstaffandothermeetingsandparticipateinstafftrainingdevelopmentwork.

•Providehighqualitysupportinthe teachingofSpanishtostudentsinKSSmainly:

•Prepareteachingmaterialsandresearchspecifictopics.

•Workwithsmallgroupsofstudentsorinonetoonesituationstodevelopthespeaking,listening,readingandwritingskillsaswellasspecificexaminationtechniques.

•Stimulatestudents'interestsandimprovetheiroralcommunicationabilities.

•HelpstudentsdeveloptheirknowledgeoftheSpanishculture.

•Supportallstudents,includingthosewhoarestruggling,giftedandtalentedstudentsand nativespeakers.

•Preparestudentsforthespeakingcomponentofspecificexaminations:GCSEspeakingassessmentsforY10 andY11students

•The post holder may be required to carry out duties in school such as break time or lunchtime duty.

LanguageBandabinitio examinationsforolderstudents.

•Monitorindividualpupils’ progress,achievementsanddevelopment,recordthemandreportthesetoteachingstafftoinformdecisions.

•Helpadministerinternalspeakingassessmentswhenrequiredandoffergeneralsupporttoteachingstaff.

•tocarryoutgeneraldutieswhichmayincludeadministrativetasks,consultationwithparents,contributionstoprofessionaldiscussionsatmeetingsbothwithinandexternaltotheSchoolandsuchotherdutiesastheHeadofDepartmentandHeadmastermayreasonablyrequest

•Tohaveanenthusiasmtotakeonresponsibilityfororganisation ofactivities,tripsandvisitsforextracurricularevents.

•Tohaveaconcernandresponsibilityforthesafetyofchildrenatalltimes.

•AnyotherdutiesasrequiredtoensurethesmoothrunningoftheSpanishdepartmentasrequestedbyyourHeadofDepartmentortheHeadmaster.
