Job Summary

To direct the planning, implementation, evaluation and administration of allfundraising activities across a wide spectrum of income streams on behalf of Henshaws Society for Blind People, reporting to the CEO under the auspices of the Board of The Trustee.

Key responsibilities

  • Member of the Henshaws senior leadership team working collaboratively across the organisation and withexternal stakeholders dedicated to the work and efforts required for Henshaws to secure its position as one of the UK’s pre-eminent disability charities.
  • Implement and continue to develop Henshaws’ fundraising strategy.
  • Establish goals and objectives for the fundraising team in alignment with Henshaws’ fundraising strategy, its organisational values, and vision for the future.
  • Accountability for ensuring that annual fundraising targets and objectives are met.
  • Oversee major campaigns in a manner that achieves organisational goals and builds sustainable donor and funder relationships.
  • Develop and monitor the budget for the fundraising team.
  • Provide counsel and support to the Trustees, seniormanagement, and other stakeholders on fundraising and strategic planning issues.
  • Oversee the identification, cultivation and solicitation ofpotential Henshaws’ highest-level funders and donors and prospects for major gifts.
  • Execute face-to-face major gift solicitations and implement strategies to acquire and steward donors.
  • Provideleadership to managers and staff responsible for all areas of fundraising: major gifts, individual giving, corporate support, and trusts and grants.
  • Provide leadership, staff development and motivation, strategic direction, and supervision for the wider fundraising team.
  • Comply with the Health and Safety requirements of the society, operate within the employee code of conduct and respect confidentiality at all times
