Leader: Welcome to Troops 2265’s Rededication Ceremony.
Flowers have always played an important part in human life. From the earliest times they have been given as signs of love and respect and have been used in ceremonies of all types. The flower in this ceremony, the carnation, shows caring for others. Caring for Others is one of the main pieces of our Girl Scout Promise. Girls, please join me in reciting the Girl Scout Promise.
Girls recite the Girl Scout Promise.
Leader:
When we were brand new Girl Scouts, we gave the troop all the excitement and energy associated with being a new member of the troop. But as we follow that first year in Scouting with the next year, and the next, and the next, each of us learns that there is more that we can offer– I, as a leader, you, as Girl Scouts, and the Troop, as an active and contributing member to our community.
Leader recites while MAREN passes out flowers quickly:
“We are leaders of girls.
We give them the time-tested Girl Scout framework of values and the opportunity to try on and practice these values through activities.
We try to teach girls to take responsibility for their actions and make a positive difference in their world.
We try to help girls to live within the limits of self-discipline.
We try to teach the girls to recognize and appreciate the likenesses as well as the differences among human beings.
Most of all, we know that our real purpose is to help girls develop and grow.
We are Girl Scout leaders.”
First Girl recites while she brings her flower to the vase and puts it in:
I, NAME, bring ______to Troop 2265.
Leader: This vase of flowers symbolizes our rededication to the Girl Scout Promise
And Law.
Flowers by themselves do not last, but the fragrance will always remind us of our commitment.
A gift of fragrance is a gift of remembrance. (wait)
(each girl picks up a flower from the vase and hands it to the next girl until all are passed out)
Our gift now is from our troop to our family and community.
Let this be our promise to you.
Troop Together (led by ______)
As a member of Troop 2265, I offer my value to my family and community.
(girls go out and give their flower to someone in the audience and return)
Leader: Please join us in singing, “Whene’er You Make a Promise”
Leader: This concludes out Rededication Ceremony.
Thank you all for making this special by joining us tonight.
