RM4. VOmap: A roadmap for advanced virtual organizations
Co-ordinator: Luis M. Camarinha-Matos, UNINOVA/ New University of Lisbon, PT
The VOmap project (www.vomap.org) aims at identifying and characterizing the key research challenges needed to fulfil the vision, required constituency, and the implementation model for a comprehensive European initiative on dynamic collaborative virtual organizations. To fulfil this goal, VOmap focuses on developing a roadmap to the necessary integrated research and technological development. The aim is to address the full innovation cycle for a sustainable new generation of businesses with the widest industrial impact. The approach is to support cohesive business ecosystems to leverage both the potential of the European diversity, and the innovative potential of the emerging “network culture” and human-oriented VOs, in order to give a worldwide leading position on VOs to Europe. This session will present the roadmapping methodology, the vision, and the proposed strategic research actions according to five focus areas: Socio-economic, VO management, ICT infrastructure, Support services, and Formal models and theories. The developed roadmap has been assessed through a large number of regional workshops held in different countries in Europe and through interactions with other key experts in other geographical regions.
If you would like to attend this roadmap session, please register as Day 3 roadmaps participant at the ICE2003 conference. For more information you can also contact Prof. Luis M. Camarinha-Matos (). Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
