APUSH Hyperpoints 4th Quarter

Students are required to fulfill 100 “outside service” points that are in some way related to American History. These points, known as “hyperpoints”, can be acquired in a variety of ways. The total point value represents roughly 1/10th of the 9-week grade. You may achieve up to 125 points, with 25 points going towards extra credit. All activities that are worth more than 1 point must be accompanied by a typed, 12 font double spaced 1 page report, on how it impacted you as well as its relevance in American history.

***Host an A.P. 2 hour study dinner for fellow A.P. students -30 pts.- (max 1)(min 5 guests)

***Attend an A.P. 2 hour study dinner -10pts.- (max 5)

*Attend a local school board meeting -5pts.- (max 1)

*Research a historical website -3pts.- (max 5) (include printout)

*Attend an A.P.U.S.History workshop -10 pts.- (max 2)

**Read a historical nonfiction book(must be approved) -25 pts.- (max 2)

*Visit a historical museum -15 pts.- (max 2)

*Service the less fortunate -5 pts.- (max 2)

*Create a 10 – 15 minute decade video from the 1950’s through the 80’s-25 pts.- (max 1)

*Create a 2-3 minute movie trailer on a civil rights or Vietnam fictitious movie-10 pts.-(m1)

*Daily hyperpoints. -30 pts.-

*Read and review an article from a historical journal (1875-1940). –10 pts.-(max 2)

*Perform a musical tribute to a significant American musician from the 1920’s through the 1970’s -20 pts- (max 1)

* Paint or draw a 60’s era mural poster/painting -15 pts.-(max 1)

* Create a powerpoint history of a specific topic of interest to you at least 40 slides with background facts, illustrations, music & sounds and a thesis. -10 pts.- (max 1) Examples: Baseball, Country music, candy, comedy, Barbie dolls, American theatre, leisure activities

* Watch and review one of the movies from list -10 pts.- (max 2)
