Electronic Transactions Association Welcomes VeriFone Americas President Jennifer Miles to Board of Directors

WASHINGTON, DC (April 29, 2013) ─The Electronic Transactions Association (ETA), the trade association of the global electronic payments industry, today announced the election of Jennifer Miles, president of VeriFone Americas, to its board of directors.

“ETA's Board of Directors features visionary leaders from across the payments ecosystem, and we are delighted that Jennifer will help us set the strategic direction of the payments industry's trade association,” said Jason Oxman, chief executive officer of ETA. “Her experience and knowledge of the industry will serve ETA and its members well.”

Ms. Miles oversees VeriFone’s North American business, which includes the financial, mobility, retail, petro, transit, retail banking, hospitality, security, health care and government business units. Prior to taking on this role, she served as executive vice president of North America and senior vice president for vertical and security solutions for VeriFone. She holds a BA in business administration from the University of Georgia.

Ms. Miles joins the ETA Board at a time of tremendous growth for the organization. Over the past six months, more than 90 new payments and technology companies have joined ETA, the trade association representing nearly every major company in the payments industry. New members include all four major wireless carriers, global technology companies, leading mobile wallet ventures and financial institutions and payments companies that are driving advancements in electronic transactions.

“I’m excited about the opportunity to serve on ETA’s board of directors and actively drive a new level of collaboration between VeriFone and the industry,” said Ms. Miles. “This is an exciting time to be in payments, and VeriFone has the global assets, depth of experience and extensive relationships to help effectively address the challenges and embrace the opportunities that lie ahead.”
