Course Description

Description

7th Grade Physical Education Students will demonstrate competency in motor skills, movement concepts, principles, strategies and tactics as they apply to learning and performance of physical activities. Students will participate daily in physical activity for health, enjoyment and/or satisfaction, challenge, self-expression and social interaction. Students will achieve knowledge to maintain a health-enhancing level of Physical Fitness. Students will learn personal and social responsibility by exhibiting responsible and social behavior that respects self and others in physical activity.

Quarter One:Fitness Testing, Soccer, Lacrosse, Ultimate Football

Grading Scale

  • A 90-100%
  • B 80-89%
  • C 70-79%
  • D 60-69%
  • F 59% and below
  • I incomplete—there is not adequate information to assess learning

Additional Grading Procedures

Students are required to dress in a PE Uniform every day to enhance healthy personal hygiene for physical activity.

  • Written tests or assignments to understand concepts, principles, strategies and tactics for learning of physical activity.

Absences

It is important for students to be at school every day. In the event of an absence, students need to speak with their teacher about the instruction and assignments they missed. This may require scheduling a time to receive instruction missed to not create holes in their learning.

Behavior Expectations

Citizenship/Behavior is highly valued as students represent themselves, our school, and the community. Grades are given based on their ability to follow the 3 R’s: Respect, Responsibility, and Ready to Learn. Grades for this are given as 4, 3, 2, or 1 according to the rubric. The rubric is available on the WMS website, or you can pick one up in the office.

Students dress down every day, participate to the best of their ability, be respectful of self and others while performing physical activities.
