BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING MINUTES
Wednesday, March 15, 2017
10:00 a.m. - Pool # 3
1. Meeting was called to order by President Bob Foster at 10:00 a.m.
2. Attendance: Lambert Lang (Amber), Mike Mears (Amethyst), Bill Kearney (Diamond) , Ken Grissoni (Emerald), Irwin LeShaw (Garnet), Ben Raia (Hematite), Bob Foster (Jade), John Azzinaro (Jasper), Gary VanStone (Malachite), Charlie Lorenzo (Quartz), Connie Fullerton (Spinel), Sue Chapin (Topaz), George Lavery(Tourmaline alternate) Marian Vella (Turquoise) and Karl Forsman. Opal not represented.
3. Proof of Due Notice for Meeting
Meeting was duly noticed.
4. Disposal of Minutes of Master Meeting of January 18, 2017.
Motion by Sue Chapin seconded by Connie Fullerton to accept minutes as written.
Passed unanimously.
REPORTS:
President’s Report: Bob Foster
President Bob Foster welcomed Lambert Lang, newly elected President of Amber, to the Master Board of Directors. Also welcomed Ken Grissoni on his return from his recent health issues.
Comcast Update
Bob Foster has a conference call with Comcast every other Wednesday for the most recent updates. Cypress Communications is in the final days of installing the conduits and beginning next week will be bringing the fiber-optics to the side of each building and then into each unit. Presidents of each Association are requested to update the contact list for each of their units when access will be required. Updates will continue to be on our website sapphirelakesnaples.net under the President’s Page.
Irrigation
An Irrigation Committee of John Azzinaro, Rick Reeves and Karl Forsman has been established to update the system’s pumps and timers over the next two years.
Treasurer’s Report: Mike Mears
Currently have a surplus of approximately $22,000.
Manager’s Report – Karl Forsman
1. Contract has been signed for the resealing of driveways in five (5) Associations, beginning Monday, April 17, 2017.
2. Landscape company is up to date with trimming and fertilizing.
3. Any irrigation issues should be sent to Karl by e-mail.
4. Great job has been done by landscape company on the front entrance.

7. NEW BUSINESS
Motion by Sue Chapin seconded by Irwin LeShaw to pay the approximate bill of $2,000 to Comcast Business and have telephones installed at each of the four pools by Century Link. Passed. 13-1 Amethyst opposed.
Motion by Bill Kearney seconded by Charlie Lorenzo to move the mailboxes on Luisa Court back 6 to 7 feet and install an apron for safer access, at a cost not to exceed $5,000. Passed. 12-2 Garnet and Topaz opposed.
8. Owner’s Comments
· Connie Fullerton requested donation of used grocery bags for a crochet group to make bags and mats for the homeless at Pool 3 every Tuesday at 1 p.m. (Week of March 21st, time will be 2:30 p.m.) Everyone is welcome to volunteer for this project.
· Bill Kearney suggested consolidating multiple Associations insurance renewal dates to attempt to acquire better rates on volume.
· Resident expressed thanks for the direction arrow painted on street.
Motion by Irwin LeShaw seconded by Sue Chapin to adjourn meeting at 10:50 a.m. Passed unanimously.
Next meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017.
