PATH Facilitators Training

Sponsored by the Illinois Council on Developmental Disabilities and Tony Records and Associates Inc.

When: dates TBA

Where: locations TBA in IL

What It Is:PATH is a systematic seven step process to define strategies for aligning and

increasing the energy available to make progress on complex problems. It is a

way for a person and members of their personal network to:

  • Affirm the values that guide them
  • Vividly depict their vision
  • Feel the tension between their vision and their current reality
  • Identify the people to enroll in making progress
  • Specify how they will build the skills, knowledge and stamina necessary for the work
  • Sketch strategies that will move them toward their vision
  • And define exactly who will take responsibility for which intermediate next steps

Who Should Come: People with disabilities, families, friends, coordinators, and anyone else who

wants to help people journey toward the development of a person centered

approach to getting and using supports in the community.

Cost: 1) The Training is FREE for anyone from Illinois who agrees to serve as a PATH facilitator for at least three individual or organization PATH processes during the upcoming year or so.

2) For everyone else, the training is $200.00.

So here's what really happens. We bring a diverse group of people together, turn off the rulesfor normal thinking, suspend the laws of physics, and have a LOT OF FUN using tools that allow usto punch through conventional thinking. Out of the box thinking replacesnormal thinkingby people who are knowledgeableabout the subject area. Big ideas result. Breakthroughs take place. PEOPLE ARE AMAZED. Choirs of angels sing. And the solutions and action plans that are developed create extraordinary results.Everyone's smiling. – From Community Works:

"A path is only a path, and there is no affront, to oneself or to others, in dropping it if that is what your heart tells you. Look at every path closely and deliberately. Try it as many times as you think necessary. Then ask yourself alone, one question. Does this path have a heart? If it does, the path is good; if it doesn't it is of no use."
