Research Fellows normally spend four weeks working at Atax on a mutually agreed area of research. During their stay, fellows are involved in the following activities:

- Producing at least one research paper on taxation or business law, in collaboration with Taxation & Business Law academic(s), to be published in a refereed journal with due acknowledgement of the fellowship;

- Conducting a Taxation & Business Law research seminar for interested members of the broader tax/business law research community; and

- Participating in Taxation & Business Law collegial activities during the period of the fellowship.

Podmínky

Applications are invited from overseas academic and professional researchers working in taxation, business law and related disciplines from around the world.

Selection is based on the applicant's research proposal and on their ability to contribute to the School of Taxation & Business Law research profile. A track record in collaborating with Taxation & Business Law academics will be considered as an advantage.

Bank of England - Houblon-Norman/George Fellowships

Popis

Houblon-Norman and George fellowships are awarded "to promote research into and disseminate knowledge and understanding of the working, interaction and function of financial business institutions in Great Britain and elsewhere and the economic conditions affecting them."

The trustees invite applicants to engage in full-time research on an economic or financial topic of their own choice, preferably one that could be studied with particular advantage at the Bank of England. The fellowship will be tenable at the Bank of England.

Podmínky

Senior Fellowships will be awarded to distinguished research workers who have established a reputation in their field. Fellowships will also be available for younger post-doctoral or equivalent applicants. Senior Fellowships will be open to all nationalities. For ordinary fellowships, however, preference will be shown to British and other EU nationals.

Beyster Graduate Fellowship

Popis

The Beyster fellowships are awarded to outstanding PhD candidates or postdoctoral scholars in the areas of economics, history, management, business and labor relations, law, philosophy, psychology, political science, public policy, and sociology studying employee ownership and related ideas such as profit sharing and broad-based stock options in the corporation and society in the United States. The fellowships permit the students to associate with several scholars engaged in this area of research at Rutgers and receive mentoring and support.

Podmínky

This fellowship supports a Ph.D. student who is initiating or completing a thesis. Students who wish to combine the fellowship with graduate study at Rutgers must also be accepted into the School of Management and Labor Relations doctoral program.

Boeing Welliver Faculty Fellowship Program

Popis

The approach of this program is to expose a small number of competitively selected professors from U.S. and international universities to key elements and the business realities of industry by enabling them to "look over the shoulder" of working professionals at several levels of the technical, business, and management career paths. They will leave the program with an understanding of Boeing's business including its research needs, with an improved understanding of the practical application of technical and business skills and with a network of contacts within Boeing and among their faculty peers that can form the basis of long-term relationships. The objectives of the program are (1) to provide faculty with a better understanding of the practical industry application of engineering, manufacturing, information technology, and business skills; (2) to help faculty enhance the content of undergraduate education in ways that will better prepare tomorrow's graduates for careers in a global environment; and (3) to have faculty observe the Boeing environments, processes, and procedures with "fresh perspectives." Faculty will use their expertise to help identify areas for possible improvements and document their observations at Boeing. The 2009 program is held in the United States in St. Louis, Missouri and various locations according to assignment.

Faculty members at the Associate Professor level or above are the target population for this program. Preferred disciplines are business, engineering, supply chain, information technology, and manufacturing (i.e., Global Management, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Organization Development/Effectiveness, Leadership; Information Systems Management). The program provides an opportunity for each faculty member to work with a mentor to "customize" participation in the program and align with personal objectives prior to the eight week program.

Podmínky

U.S. and non-U.S. faculty are welcome to apply. The preferred applicant would be a current associate or tenured professor or international equivalent. Applicants should have 5 to 15 years of experience of full-time teaching and currently be teaching undergraduate engineering, manufacturing, business, or computer science classes at a U.S. or international university.

International applicants must be able to obtain a B-1 Visitor visa or Visa Waiver program for short term business purposes. Applicants would need to contact the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in their home country to confirm the documentation requirements. In many cases the applicant will be asked to provide a support letter from the company to be visited in the United States. If selected as a participant, a letter will be provided by The Boeing Company for the purpose of participating in the Boeing Welliver Faculty Fellowship Program.

For assignments in the Integrated Defense Systems business unit, participants must be U.S. citizens in order to satisfy Department of Defense facility clearance requirements. Lack of U.S. citizenship will limit a participant's exposure within all business units in order to comply with International Trade in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and other government requirements.
