SCC Minutes - June 1, 2015

1. May Hot Lunch – Booster Juice

a. Big hit just need to clarify that all are wraps (not actual Pizza)

2. iPad Raffle

a. We have sold 100 booklets; 60 are still signed out but not returned

b. We did an incentive of a 10 punch swim pass (for the pool) only 5 students participated

c. Grant prize is a family movie pass to the theatre (2 adults, 2 kids with popcorn and drinks), this was bought from Costco for $49.95.

3. Yearend Family Picnic & Aboriginal Day

4. Picnic Tables – DONE! Thank you Tana & Cory Arnott, Millisia Meacher and Nicole Radfelder.

New Business

1. SCC elections for 2015-2016

We decided to assign positions at our September meeting.

Chairperson:

· Conduct meetings of the Council

· Ensure that all members have input to discussion and decisions

· Prepare meeting agenda in consultation with Principal and SCC members

· Oversee operations of the Council

· Act as a spokesperson for the Council

Secretary:

· Take minutes at Council meetings

· Receive and send correspondence on behalf of the Council

· Take charge of any official records of the Council

· Maintain a membership list of all the Members of the Council; and

· Ensure that appropriate notice is given for all meetings of the Council

Treasurer

· keep an accurate and record of money coming in and out

Hearts & Flowers:

· ensures staff receives something(card) for their birthday

· do something for Teacher Appreciation ($50)

2. What school improvements are we looking at doing in 2015-2016

· More Chrome Books (we have room for 6 more)

· Gym Equipment (stuff is getting old, or supplies are low)

· Math Supports – we focused of reading and our library in 2014-15 so let do Math for 2015-16 (Maybe have a tablet as a prize)

3. September Hot Lunch

· Week of September 21

· Hotdog with a freezie

· Watch for freezies on sale at Superstore

4. Christmas in a Box Fundraiser

· Start selling when? @ Mission Fair

· 180 jars

· Need mugs ordered in September
