Colorado Humanities invites you to join the National Initiative on School Readiness, by attending a FREE Motheread + Teacheread Institute or Story Exploring Workshop through our Motheread/Fatheread Colorado program.

The national, award-winning Motheread®, Teacheread®, and Story Exploring® curricula prepare children for school by helping adults share books with them. The Motheread curriculum is for adult educators and administrators who regularly work with groups of parents. The Teacheread curriculum is for adult educators who regularly work with teacher aides and childcare providers who may have lower literacy skills. Our 3-day Motheread+Teacheread Institute offers training in both curricula. Two college credits are available for this training.

Training, books, lodging (if needed),evaluationand other support is available for adult and early childhood educators, childcare providers, librarians and administrators through the generous support of the Social Innovation Fund, provided in Colorado by Mile High United Way and the Corporation for Community and National Service, Temple Hoyne Buell Foundation, The Jefferson Foundation, The Denver Foundation, Daniels Fund, Packard Foundation, and Colorado Humanities & Center for the Book.

Please join us in helping to prepare all Colorado children for school entry. We know you're doing great work, which is why you're invited to be a part of this national initiative to close the achievement gap where it starts: in those early years when language-learning first occurs.
