SDSU CNSA Board of Directors Eligibility & Election Campaign Rules

SDSU CNSA Board of Directors Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Candidates must be a current SDSU Nursing Student for the full term.
  2. Candidates must be a current member of good standing in SDSU CNSA. Good standing shall be ultimately determined by the Faculty Advisor on behalf of the SDSU School of Nursing, which will include evaluation of any circumstances related to existing learning contracts, previous or concurrent failure of core nursing courses, or unprofessional behavior.
  3. Candidates must also comply with any and all policy outlined by the general SDSU CNSA Bylaws.

SDSU CNSA Board of Directors Election Campaign Rules:

  1. Candidates may begin campaigning only after submission of Board of Directors application.
  2. Candidates are not permitted to make in-class announcements regarding their campaign. Please do not ask faculty to make in-class announcement because in-class announcements are not allowed.
  3. Candidates are allowed to distribute appropriate campaign materials, including flyers, goodies, buttons, etc. Candidates are not allowed to post any permanent materials in any classrooms. Candidates may not distribute materials that deface other candidates. Candidates may not verbally deface other candidates. Candidates may not go into classes they aren’t enrolled in to distribute campaign materials. Candidates may have another student who is enrolled in the class distribute on their behalf.
  4. Use of appropriate social media is permitted, given no materials or posts deface other candidates. On their BOD application, candidates may request SDSU CNSA to post their application short answersto the SDSU CNSA social media outlets. Candidates may not post directly onto other cohort’s social media outlets.
  5. Candidates are not allowed to bribe students for votes.
  6. Current SDSU CNSA Directors cannot endorse or facilitate the campaign of any candidate. They may give opportunities for shadowing or apprenticeship to any candidate that expresses interest, with equal opportunity to all.
  7. If a candidate violates any of the eligibility requirements or campaign rules, they will be automatically disqualified from the election.
