Purpose Statement: The Bodybuilding and Fitness Club at The Ohio State University is a club that mainly focuses on achieving personal goals through weightlifting, training, and competing with a community of other dedicated workers. The club is accepting of all fitness levels, and is looking for people who are willing to work hard alongside others.

Article I – General Information
Section 1: Bodybuilding and Fitness Club at The Ohio State University
Section 2: Purpose
The Bodybuilding and Fitness Club aims to bring bodybuilders and workout fanatics together through competition, training, and lifting in a community of dedicated workers.
Section 3: Non-Discrimination Policy
This organization and all its members shall not discriminate against any individual(s) for reasons of age, color, disability, gender identity or expression, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or veteran status.
Article II-Membership: Qualifications and Categories of membership
Any current undergraduate student at The Ohio State University is eligible to participate. There is no application or other qualifications needed to participate in this club. Each member is able to train with the club, compete with the club, and hold a single vote for Executive Committee elections.
Article III- Organization Leadership
The Executive Committee of organized leaders is made up of three positions: President, Vice-President, and Treasurer. The President is responsible for leading meetings and organizing competitions. The Vice-President is in charge of membership and the members of the club. The Treasurer is in charge of handling all monetary responsibilities involving the club.
Section 1: As the club grows and/or the demand for more Committee positions are needed then changes will be made through a majority vote in the Executive Committee to create the new positions without going through the amendment process stated in Article VIII.
Section 2: As the club dynamics grow and change if a position in the Executive Committee is not needed anymore then through a majority vote in the Committee the position can be dissolved without going through the Amendment process stated in Article VIII.
Article IV- Standing Committee (General Members)
Each member is entitled to one vote for Executive Committee member elections. The responsibility of each member is to simply contribute as much as possible in order to help themselves reach personal goals.
Article V- Method of Selecting and/or Removing Officers and Members
Executive Committee elections will be held at the end of each Spring term, to be effective for the following Autumn term. The member needs to receive a majority of the votes to be elected to the Executive Committee position. Committee members are able to be impeached at any time throughout their served terms. This can be done by a two-thirds majority vote of all members and a unanimous vote amongst other Committee members. To become part of the club all members simply need to contact the President or Vice-President, or walk into a group meeting. For General Members to be removed out of the club they must deviate from following the Rules of Membership stated in the by-laws. Once deviation is noticed for the first time, the member will be given a warning stating that they are at risk of being removed from the club. Members will be removed from the club if the guidelines of active membership are broken for two consecutive semesters.
Section 1: There is no set limit to the amount of times an officer can remain in the Executive Committee. However, they must be voted into their position each time according to the regulations stated in Article V of the Constitution.
Article VI- Advisor Board
Any faculty member wanting to become part of the Advisory board is welcomed as long as he or she agree with the goals of the club and a majority of the Executive Committee is in agreement.
Article VII - Meeting requirements
Meetings happen once a week which will be specified to each member of the club. It is a one hour meeting which will discuss past and upcoming events, workout routines, and reaching personal goals.
Article VIII - Methods of Amending Constitution
All amendments to the constitution need to be submitted to the Executive Committee in writing. The potential amendment should be read aloud to the entire club, then discussed at the next three meetings. The amendment is to be voted on by the club after the third subsequent meeting. Approval for amendment needs to be two-thirds of General Members and unanimous in the Executive Committee.
Article IX- Methods of Dissolution of Organization
If the club becomes in debt or encounters any issues with money the club shall commence a meeting to discuss and decide what to do with the money. Voting shall commence on ideas and two-thirds majority of the General Members and unanimous decision of the Executive Committee must take place for any action to happen. Any assets that need dealt with shall be discussed thoroughly with the entire club but a two-thirds majority vote of the Executive Committee must happen for any action to take place.
By-Laws
This section of the Constitution consist of the rules and regulations that every member must follow and abide by to be an active member of the club.
Article I - Parliamentary Authority
The rules presented in the Constitution along with the Rules of Membership shall govern the organization in all cases to which they are applicable, and in which they are not inconsistent with the by-laws of this organization.
Article II - Membership
To become a member anyone simply must contact the President or Vice-President, or walk into a group meeting. There are no dues but are subject to change through events hosted for club members. Termination of membership occurs if two infractions of the Constitution and/or By-Laws occur in consecutive semesters.
Section 1. Rules of Membership
- Each member must participate in 30 hours of exercise, preferably with another member or friend, and logged onto the club spreadsheet each semester.
- Each member is required to attend three meetings each semester.
- Each member must abide by Constitution and By-Laws stated by the club.
Article III-Election/ Appointment of Government Leadership
For election to Executive Committee follow the rules stated in the Constitution Article V.
Article IV - Executive Committee
The duties of the Executive Committee consist of the jobs stated in the Constitution Article III, however other duties consist of running and maintaining the club. Also duties consist of bettering each member and working to further the goals of the club.
Article V - Advisor Responsibilities
Subject to change as the needs of the club change and grow.
Article VI - Meeting Requirements
Each member should attend every meeting but exception happen. Refer to Article II: Section 1 of By-Laws. For voting to commence two-thirds of the full club need to be present for items presented to the Executive Committee and the General Members.
Article VII - Methods of Amending By-Laws
Amendments need to be submitted to the Executive Committee in writing. The amendment needs to be read to the entire assembly and must wait two subsequent weeks before voting is casted. The amendment must receive two-thirds of the votes from the General Members and a unanimous Executive Committee vote to be passed. A new amendment must not interfere with any ideals presented in the Constitution along with a pre-existing By-Law.
