Jeevan Pramaan Desktop Client Installation Procedure

Procedure to install the Drivers and the Client Application Software for Windows.

Step 1 - Client System Requirements for installing Jeevan Pramaan software.

1.  Microsoft .Net Framework version 4 - Full (or) Higher

2.  Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86) for 32bit Windows machine (or)
Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x64) for 64bit Windows machine

3.  Internet /Intranet connection to communicate with Jeevan Pramaan Server.

Note: -

a) Please make sure the above software is available in your machine before proceeding to download the Jeevan Pramaan Application.

For checking: go to “Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features”.

b) If not available download the software from Microsoft website and Install.

Step 2 - Download Jeevan Pramaan software and Drivers.

1)  Go to Jeevan Pramaan portal - URL https://jeevanpramaan.gov.in.

A)  Click on Download link.

·  Provide your valid Email Id.

·  Click on “I Agree to download” button.

For Windows/PC Application version:-

·  Choose the download based on your Windows system configuration (32/64 Bit) and Finger Print/Iris device you have.

·  Extract the contents of the downloaded File.

Note: - Jeevan Pramaan application installation only once irrespective of the number Finger Print/Iris devices you have.

Step 3 – Install Finger Print Drivers.

Part1 - Procedure to install Device drivers for the following devices:

·  Mantra MFS100

·  Nitgen-HFDU08-BioEnable

·  Cogent CSD200 (3M)

·  Secugen PRO20

·  Morpho MSO 1300E SAFRAN

·  Anaxee FS88

·  Integra FS88

·  Precision FM220

Note: Please do not connect the Finger Print/Iris Device before installing the drivers.

1.  Open the corresponding Drivers folder and run the setup executable file.

2.  Follow the instructions that appear while installation.

3.  Once the installation is finished, connect the device to USB port of the PC.

4.  Windows will start searching for the drivers and once the device drivers are loaded, you will be able to start using Client Software for Jeevan Pramaan.

Note: - Please skip step below (part2) if you are not using Startek Finger Print /Iris devices and vice versa

Part2 - Procedure to install Device drivers for the following devices:

·  Startek FM220

·  Iritech Irishield MK2120U (Iris Scanner)

1.  Connect Iris scanner to USB port of PC.

2.  Now Open Device Manager under control panel and you should be able to see IriShield in Other devices as shown below.

3.  Right Click on IriShield and click Update Driver Software.

4.  In the next screen, Click "Browse my computer for driver software" as shown below.

5.  In next screen, Make sure that "Include Subfolders" is checked and then click Browse Button.

6.  Now select the folder "Drivers & Native Libarires\32bit\Drivers\IriShield-USB Bino_Mono Driver" and click Next.

7.  In the next screen, click Install. This will install the required IriShield drivers.

8.  In device manager, you should see the following window indicating sucessful installation of IriShield.

Note: Similar procedure to be followed for Startek Finger Print device.

Step 4 – Setting Environmental Variables

Note: - Now Jeevan Pramaan Windows client version 2.75 is setting Environment variable path automatically. In case of any issue in connecting the biometric device after successful installation of device drivers, ensure that the below red color text is present as mentioned in Part1 below.

Part1 - Procedure to set the PATH variable in the User variables section

1. Go to Control Panel - > System

2. In the left pan click on Advanced System Settings.

3. In the Advanced Tab click on Environmental variable

4. Add or Update the User variable (variable name PATH) using EDIT button.

4.1) If the user path variable exists then at the end of the path variable add the below string line (Complete string marked Red below even though you are using single device).

4.2) If the user path variable does not exists then create a new PATH variable with the

below string line. (Complete string marked Red below even though you are using single device).

5. Do the steps 4.1 and 4.2 to set the PATH variable in the System variables section.

Step 5 – Procedure to Install Jeevan Pramaan Application

1.  Open folder Installer and run the installer JeevanPramaanInstaller.exe

2.  This installation supports only above mentioned biometric devices.

3.  In the final Screen click finish. This will launch the Jeevan Pramaan application.

4.  Also a shortcut would be placed on your Desktop and in Start Menu.

Step 6 – Procedure to use Jeevan Pramaan Application

1.  Run Jeevan Pramaan application.

2.  Plug your device and proceed with Jeevan Pramaan application by providing mobile number and aadhar number.

3.  Your will receive the One Time Password on mobile number you have mentioned above.

4.  Put the OTP in the space provided and Click OK.

5.  You will be presented with Operator's Authentication Screen.

6.  Here provide your Name and Email ID and click Scan Finger.

7.  Now Scan Finger (on finger print Scanner) or Iris on Iris Scanner.

8.  Once Authenticated, you will receive message - Device Registration Successful.

9.  On Clicking OK, the application will close and restart.

10.  Now you will be presented with the Pensioner Authentication Screen.

Pensioner Authentication and Certificate Generation.

1.  Once in Pensioner Authentication Screen, give the Mobile number and Aadhaar Number of Pensioner.

2.  Click on Generate OTP.

3.  The Pensioner will receive the OTP on the mobile number given in Step 1.

4.  Fill that number on the screen and click OK.

5.  Now you will be presented with following screen.

6.  Fill in Pensioner's Name, PPO number, Select Bank Name from Drop-down list, give account number of Pensioner and select Pension Type. Give Email, Select Remarried options, Re-Employed Options.

7.  Now Click Small grey box as shown below. Read the consent before starting the finger/Iris scanning process.

8.  Once the Authentication is completed you will receive screen as shown below. Also Pensioner will receive SMS,having details Pramaan ID, which can be communicated to Pensioner's pension disbursing authority as proof of life certificate. You can also print the generated life certificate using print button for your future reference.

9.  This will complete the Authentication and generation process.

Android Application version

·  Click on “Mobile App”.

·  Install in your android mobile/tablet - as of now android OS support is till Lollipop (5.0).

Note: - Biometric (Finger Print/Iris) drivers shall get installed along with the application

Possible messages displayed on the screen & Solution.

i)  If your screen message contains “Certificate Issue”, do the below steps

Download “e_Mudhra.cer” file from “Possible solutions for windows client usage issues” link of Jeevan Pramaan FAQ section https://jeevanpramaan.gov.in/app/faq#coll31

è  Install certificate and add to Trusted Root Authorities.

ii)  If your screen message contains “Unable to parse Jeevan Pramaan Server response”

ü  Please try again (or) restart the application.

iii)  If your screen message contains “Unauthorised access.”

ü  Please give full permission on Jeevan Pramaan application to the user.

ü  Remove any kind of restriction from antivirus on Jeevan Pramaan, if present.

iv)  If your screen message contains “Failed to create OTP”

a)  Set correct date in your system.

b)  Jeevan Pramaan application may be restricted by your Firewall (or) proxy (or ) Antivirus Software.

Special Notes

a) Futronics FS88 Device

------

Since "Futronics FS88" device is integrated by both Anaxee and INTEGRA, delete any one of the vendors folder from FingerprintSensors directory and work.

Explanation:-

·  If your finger print device name is Anaxee, delete the " INTEGRA-FS88-INN " folder from “c:\ FingerprintSensors” path if present.

·  If your finger print device name is INTEGRA, delete the " ANAXEE-FS88-WW " folder from “c:\ FingerprintSensors” path if present.

b) FM220 Device

------

Since "FM220" device is integrated by both Startek and Precision, delete any one of vendors folder from FingerprintSensors directory and work.

Explanation:-

·  If your finger print device name is Precision, delete the "Startek-FM220-ACPL" folder from “c:\ FingerprintSensors” path.

·  If your finger print device name is Startek, delete the "Precision" folder from “c:\ FingerprintSensors” path. Also the "PrecisionBiometricService" under services needs to be stopped if it is running (to do that, Click Start , click in the Start Search box, type services.msc , and then press ENTER).
