Communications Group

o  Club Bulletin

Publish a weekly bulletin that will serve as a source of information for our members. The bulletin will include minutes of previous meetings and notification of upcoming events.

o  COGS

Publish the annual roster of members, committees, bylaws and other information

o  Club History

(1)Continue to inform current members of past achievements and the activities of the Boise Rotary Club (2)Pursue information concerning the history of the Club (3)Record memories of long-time Rotarians (4)Maintain a log and scrapbook of Club events.

Public Relations

(1)Communicate to the public the work of the Club and the events concerning Rotary International (2)Create news releases about interesting speakers at our meetings, and noteworthy projects

o  Website

Update website with new member information, stories, speakers, photos, etc.

District Liaison

Serve as Liaison between Club and District by attending District events and bringing information back to the Club.

Club Life Group

Program Committee

Enrich members’ lives and promote attendance by providing entertaining, educational and informational programs to the general membership.

Special Events Committee

Build attendance, friendship and fellowship at all of the special events by making them enjoyable and interesting to all members.

o  Music Committee

Use music to provide a vibrant atmosphere for our meetings

Chaplain’s Committee

Make sure there is an invoker for each meeting.

Membership Services Group

Membership Development Committee

(1)Increase Club membership by identifying and recruiting individuals actively involved in our community (2)Help sponsors within the Club facilitate their new member efforts (3)Help retain members by coordinating with related committees to make the membership worthwhile.

Rotary Information Committee

Insure a clear understanding of what a Rotary Membership means to a new member by providing a forum for the education of new members on the historical perspectives of Rotary International as well as in the Rotary Club of Boise’s historical and operational aspects.

Membership Credentials & Classification Committee

Review new member applications and assign new member classification based on business and/or social standing and general eligibility.

Fellowship & Welcoming Committee

(1)Welcome Rotarians and visitors at meetings and events (2)Remind Club members of upcoming events and encourage participation (3)Assist new members and visitors with questions about Rotary, how to get involved, etc.

Services to People Group

Student of the Month

Honor students from Boise High Schools who are working to make a difference through service and/or leadership in their community and honor them at a Club meeting.

Rotary Youth Projects

Involvement with youth in RYLA, Rotaract and Interact Clubs

Local Youth Projects

Identify specific project, particularly ones that focus on literacy, involving youth where Rotary can have a positive impact such as the Reading Project and the Dictionary Project

International Youth Service

(1)Secure host families for foreign exchange students (2)Assist with outbound students sponsored by the Club (3)Help with exchange student group activities

o  Risk Management

Train members for working with young people involved with Rotary programs

o  Senior Services

Give community recognition and provide service to senior citizens of the community through programs such as Senior Volunteer Recognition and the Rose Project on Mother’s Day

RI Foundation Education

Inform members of Foundation Education Programs such as the Group Study Exchange, Ambassadorial Scholars, Peace and Conflict Studies, and World Peace Fellows.

o  Century Scholars

Organize an event to be held in the spring honoring the top 100 students from the Boise High schools. Each student identifies a teacher that made a significant difference in their life.

Service to Communities Group

o  World Service Committee

(1)Assist Boise Rotarians in identifying and accomplishing opportunities for world service in other countries (2)Explore world service projects within the local community

o  Community Development Committee

Assist the less fortunate individuals in our community by providing hands-on opportunities for Rotarians to volunteer their time in local community development projects such as Rake Up Boise, Paint the Town, Salvation Army Bell Ringing

o  Vocational Service Committee

Encourage club members to find ways to incorporate the ideals of Rotary into their regular vocations. These are: adherence to and promotion of the highest ethical standards in all occupations; recognize the worthiness of all useful professions (not just those followed by Rotarians); and encouraging the contribution of vocational talents to solving the problems of society and meeting the needs of the community.

Financial Support Group

o  Budget

Develop and submit for Board approval a detailed budget that reflects allocated spending for Club committees and supports Board goals.

o  Rotary International Foundation

Increase, or maintain, the level of giving by the Club to Rotary International by reporting to the membership what the Foundation is doing with the funds received, how a member can be a contributor and honoring Paul Harris Fellows at meetings.

o  Greater Boise Rotary Foundation

Promote the GBRF in a manner similar to that being done by the RI Foundation Committee.

o  Julia Davis Plaza

Support the building of the Rotary Plaza at Julia Davis park by Fund Raising and Fund Raising Events
