Wakulla County Tourist Development Council

Call to Action:

Help Wakulla TDC Grow Our Local Economy

The Wakulla County Tourist Development Council will be holding the next Public Roundtable Meeting on June 7th from 6:30-8:30 PM at the St. Marks Wildlife Refuge Education Building. The mission of the TDC is to promote and facilitate travel to and within Wakulla County for the benefit of its economy, residents, and travel/tourism industry. Tourist Development is Economic Development, especially in Wakulla County where so many of our small businesses rely on tourists to keep the doors open. Help us sustain our tourism industry and improve our local economy by participating in this vital public forum.

As we move into a new era of web-based and social media marketing, it is more important than ever to communicate and collaborate with our local tourism industry partners. The Public Roundtable is one way the TDC is reaching out to the community and specifically to tourism-related businesses in Wakulla. Input from previous Public Roundtable meetings have been the genesis of some our most significant initiatives, such as the “Wonders of Wakulla” marketing campaign, web content development through business inventory forms, and social media education for local businesses.

The June 7th Public Roundtable will begin with a brief presentation on recent TDC activities and initiatives, including some educational opportunities we can offer to our local tourism-related businesses to increase their visibility to the traveling public. This will be followed by a facilitated discussion of how to keep our tourism industry engaged in responsible promotion of our incredible resources, ways that TDC can improve its marketing/advertising activities, and new ideas for marketing campaigns that can be fully developed to reach our target audiences.

This is a Call to Action to our Wakulla hoteliers, campgrounds, attractions, outfitters, Green Guides, Charter Captains, and other businesses that serve the traveling public – Join our discussion on June 7th. We would also like to have participation from local historians, artists, photographers, etc that can be valuable collaborators in our tourism development. Help us continue to grow our local economy through our rich nature- and heritage-based tourism industry. Please join us:
