This year, the inaugural “Fairways Fore Hope” Charity Golf Tournament will raise funds for the sustainability of the Edmonton Inner City Children’s Project. The event will be held on July 30, 2009 at The Ranch Golf & Country Club. The tournament will be a fun filled event including pre-golf BBQ, prizes and post-golf dinner.
The Edmonton Inner City Children's Project Society is a registered non-profit charitable organization (Charitable Registration Number 88419 2824 RR0001). Since 1995 we have been providing quality recreational and educational programming to children and youth in the McCauley and Boyle Street communities. Recognizing the need for supervised, skill-building programming in the inner-city community, we have partnered with local schools and other organizations to provide a variety of programs and services. By focusing on asset-building and skills-enhancing activities we are helping to build a strength and resiliency in our children that will aid them in becoming strong, independent leaders of tomorrow.
Our programs allow inner-city children to play in a safe and supportive environment that promotes healthy alternatives and diversity of experience. They promote structure and clear limits, positive interaction with peers and adults, physical activity, creative expression, achievement, cooperation, health awareness, conflict resolution, and a variety of other skills. We are the only inner city agency providing these services for children in their own school setting. Our partner schools are McCauley Public Elementary / Jr. High School and Mother Teresa Catholic Elementary School. We believe that the school provides the safest opportunities for inner-city children to build confidence and self esteem, while participating in recreational, educational, cultural and leadership-building activities.
