Overview

The CFCNCA Contestrewardscreative effortsthathappenduring thecampaignseason,including special events,writtenmaterials,and overall communication strategies.These awardsrecognize the individuals, reporting units,andagencies thatdemonstratethe theme of“Show Some Love”and supportthegoalsofthe campaign.

Entrieswill be judgedbya panel offederal employees (Campaign Workers) atCFCNCA headquarterswith approvalfromtheLocalFederal Coordinating Committee. Submissionswill be judgedonfirstimpression,presentationquality, creativity/uniqueness,communication ofCFCmessages,and perceived levelofeffort.Threeawardswillbe given percategory(onesmall,onemedium,andone large).

Winnerswill be recognized atthe CFCNCA Campaign Finale and AwardsCeremony on March 2, 2018.

Include a description(nomorethantwo pages),and examples/materials (website screenshots, photographs,publications,etc.)

  • Each entryshould be submittedin onlyone category,and eachdepartment/agency/reporting unit should enteronlyonce percategory.
  • Use aseparateEntryFormforeachsubmission– each entryshould have itsown EntryForm.

AwardCategories

  • Executive InvolvementAward—Tothedepartment,agencyorreporting unitthat bestinvolved the head oftheagencyand/orseniorleadershipoftheirorganization in the implementation ofcampaign activities,eventsand communications.Youshould submitphotos,articles, lettersorspeechesshowingyourleaders’ involvementin thecampaign.
  • CFCNCA Innovator’s Award—Tothedepartment,agencyorreporting unitthat exhibits the most innovation in their campaign approach. Winners will be submitted to OPM for national award consideration.
  • BestSpecialEvent—To thedepartmentoragency with themostoutstandingcampaignrally, kickoff, volunteerinvolvement,dayofcaring orotherevent.Includepictures,video,scriptsorothermediato capturethedetailsofyourevent.Describetheevent,creative team,attendance,special speakers/guestsandotherbackground information in yoursubmission.
  • BestWebsite/Electronic Communications/Social Media —To thedepartment,agencyorunitthatmakesthe mostcreative use ofthewebsite and video toolsto communicatethe CFCNCA story.Submitcopies of screenshotsofyourwebsite or social media postwith the entryform.You can alsoenterinthiscategory:samplesof computernetworkmessages,email blasts,calendar/meeting reminders, electronicnewsletters,or otherwaysyou electronicallydeliverthe CFCNCA message.
  • BestPoster/Display—Tothedepartment,agencyorreporting unitjudged tohave themostcreative postertopublicize CFCNCA and attractcontributorstothe campaign. The actualpostermustbesubmitted. Forlargerdisplays,picturesofthe displaywill be accepted.
  • BestCampaign Essay orPublication—Tothe individual who createsthe bestessayorfeature storyon anemployee orcharity.In addition,youmayenterany internally-createdmagazine, newspaper,orotherprinted periodicalthatdoesitsbesttodrawdonorsinto thecampaignand communicatethe appealofCFCNCA.
  • BestPhotography—To an individualororganizationforoutstanding useoforiginal imagesto publicize the CFCNCA.The imagescan showhowemployees getinvolved in voluntaryactivities,how people in need are assisted by CFCNCA-supported charitiesorartisticandcreative waysimages are used in thecourse ofthecampaign.
  • BestOverall Outreach Plan—Tothe organization thatusesmultiple techniquesto inform andmotivateemployeesto participate inthe 2017Campaign.

Each departmentoragency will have the optionofnominatinga CFCNCA Heroofthe Yearto behonored at the awardseventin2018.The individualnominated willbe evaluated based upontwo keyfactors:1) exceptionalcommitmentto CFCNCA activities asa Federalworker,and2)dedicatedservice tocommunity- wide volunteerismon apersonallevel.

CampaignManagers,Coordinators,Keyworkers,Loaned Executives and othersmayberecognized.CFCNCA HeroAwardswillbe given in each ofthefollowingcategories:Civilian,Military,and Postal Service.Thetop threehighest-scoringlocal CFCNCA Heroes (onefromeachcategory)willbe entered intheNational CFC HeroAwardscontest,administeredbythe OfficeofPersonnel Management.
