First Federal Announces Employee Recognition and Achievements

Port Angeles, WA (October 24, 2016) – First Federal is pleased to announce several exciting employee achievements.

Jeff Davis, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer has been named to a 3 Year Term to Fiserv’s National Strategic Planning Council (SPC).This council is comprised of members who are expected to be in a senior management position at their bank, or closely associated with the bank’s senior management team. They are elected and appointed from the Cleartouch client base. SPC members act as representatives of the client base to provide advice and ideas to Fiserv regarding industry issues. “Fiserv is a respected industry leader, and a longtime First Federal partner. I look forward to the opportunities and shared insight this position will mutually provide,” stated Mr. Davis.

Brett Bies, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer for First Federal, presented at this year’s IT Summit - Seattle on the topic of “Entrepreneurial IT – The Fusion of Business and IT”. Brett has served as an Executive Board Member for the IT Summit – Seattle since 2013 and will serve as the Conference Director for The IT Summit – Seattle 2017. The IT Summit is an executive technology conference that provides educational and networking resources for the IT leaders in the Puget Sound area. The conference is driven by an Executive Board of regional IT Professionals that directs the content of the educational sessions and sponsor participation. It is designed to address the real-world opportunities and challenges faced by today’s executives, by facilitating face-to-face interaction and networking among information technology peers. “I’ve attended quite a few technology conferences in my 20+ year career. What makes the IT Summit stand out is that it is truly tailored to the needs and wants of our industry in the Northwest. That in itself brings great value to our IT community, “stated Mr. Bies.

Jackie Gold, Vice President and Loan Servicing Manager was one of eight Washington bankers to complete the Washington Bankers Association Management Development Program. The program focuses on developing a solid understanding of the skills necessary to lead banks, employees and communities into the future. The program is broken into 6 full day classes that include a variety of teaching tools on management, leadership, sales and communication topics of utmost relevance to today’s managers. It enables participants to put lessons learned into practice immediately. Ms. Gold stated, “My favorite class was dedicated to communication; which provided tools to empower others, increase performance and build trust. I am excited to put these tools to work in my department.”
