GENERAL MEET INFORMATION
PROCEDURES: NCAA championship meet procedures will be followed.
ENTRIES: Entry forms are DUE Wednesday February 6, 2013.
Please include a phone number for confirmation and an email address for psyche sheets. Entries must be made via Hy-Tek only.
Enter each athlete with his/her “best” time for the current season: if the athlete has not competed in the event during the current season then that athlete must be entered with a “NT” for no time. Estimated times are NOT acceptable.
Each athlete is permitted to participate in a maximum of seven events, of which no more than three may be individual events. On the official entry form, a swimmer may be listed in a maximum of four (4) individual event one of which must be scratched at the appropriate time during the meet or prior to the meet).
Each team is allowed 18 athletes, with swimmers counting as one athlete and divers counting as 1/3 athlete. Coaches who enter more than 18 competitors must designate exhibition swimmers in the HyTek entries. Athletes beyond the 18 may compete as exhibition entrants in the preliminaries but may not advance to the finals and may not score. Exhibition swimmers will be seeded by time with all competitors.
1650 entries are based on the best 1000-yard performance this season.
Relay entries – Each school is allowed to enter an “A” and “B” relay in the morning prelims. Only the “A” relay may advance to the finals. On Hy-Tek entries’ enter your relay times only, aggregate times may not be entered.

Wednesday scratches are due by 6:30pm on Wednesday.
The scratch box will be located at the announcer’s table. Scratches for the following day’s
events are due the day before by 5:00 p.m.

Friday, February 8:If you have changes in your entries, contact Angie Roon. No changes after this date may be made. (Except for special circumstances, e.g., illness) We will do everything we can to make this a fair meet for the athletes.

Men’s 1-m diving prelims will be held concurrently with the 800 Free Relay. Diving during this session will be on edive on a projector in the diving well and not on the main scoreboard.
Thursday - Saturday:Warm-ups for prelims and finals each day begin at 8:30 and 4:00 p.m.
Prelims -10:00 a.m., Finals – 5:30 p.m.
Diving prelims will start no later than 1:30 p.m and will begin immediately after the swimming prelims
ORDER OF EVENTS:See attached sheet.
RELAYS: Teams will be allowed to enter a “B” relay in the prelims only. The purpose of the “B” relay is to help coaches determine who will swim on the “A” relay in the finals. If the “A’ relay is disqualified, the “B” relay may not advance to the finals. If a “B” relay is disqualified, no swimmer on the disqualified “B” relay will be allowed to advance to the “A” relay in the finals. “B” relays will not count as an event for the swimmer as they are non-scoring events.
TIME TRIALS: Will begin immediately following the conclusion of prelims and finals sessions. Entries are due at the conclusion of the 20 minute breaks on Thursday and Saturday and prior to the women’s 100 backstroke on Friday for prelim sessions. For final sessions, entries are due at the conclusion of diving finals. Submit entries to Angie Roon.
LOCKER ROOMS: Locker facilities are limited. Lockers are available on a first come, first serve basis. Locks should not be left on the lockers overnight. All athletes should provide their own lock and towels. Please do not leave valuables unlocked in the locker rooms.
TIMERS: Each College is responsible for providing 3 timers. If you have parents who would like to time they should contact Scott Heidel, our parent timing coordinator - 703-966-1766 or

Each team is responsible for maintaining the assigned number of timers in the assigned lanes.
BACK UP TIMING: Timers will report to behind the diving boards for a timer’s meeting20 minutes prior to the start of the meet.

Hospitality room: Each day there will be food and drink in the room on the far side of the pool behind the diving boards (east end of the pool)for coaches and meet officials (NO athletes please).
Awards: Championship finalists (top 8) will be recognized after the finals of the men’s event. The top three places will receive medals. Athletes must wear their official team warm-up on the awards stand. All award recipients must report.
DIVING: Diving will begin as soon as possible after the prelims. Divers should warm-up during the swimming prelims and be ready to go when the swimming prelims have finished. Questions regarding the diving events can be directed to Kyle Oberhill – 269-779-6535

Athletic Training Room: An athletic trainer will be available each day of the meet.
Hours: Wednesday, 6:00 p.m.; Thursday - Saturday, 8:00 a.m. until the end of the last session. Athletic training room will be located in the hospitality room.

TEAM SEATING
Team seating will be assigned prior to the start of the competition on Wednesday, February 13, 2013. JenisonAquaticCenter is a nut free facility. Please make sure any team snack items do not contain nuts.
SPECTATOR SEATING
Spectator seating will be assigned a section per college. After each session, the seating for the spectators will rotate. Bag chairs and coolers are not allowed in the spectator seating area. Body paint is not allowed in the facility. Those wearing body paint will be removed from the facility.
CONCESSIONS
Full concessions will be available Thursday, Friday, and Saturday during the preliminaries and the finals. The concession stand will be closed 15 minutes after diving begins in the afternoon each day.
TICKETS
Both individual session general admission tickets and all-session passes will be available for the MIAA Swimming and Diving Championships. Individual general admission tickets will be sold for preliminary and sessions (6 sessions). Bearers of the all-session pass will be admitted to all events beginning Thursday, February 13th through Saturday, February 16th. Doors will open to the public one-hour prior to the start of the first event. There will be no pre-sales of tickets for this event. There will be no charge for the Wednesday evening 800-yd Free Relay and men’s 1-meter diving prelims.
