STEMFESTIVAL PARTICIPATION
We would like to invite you to participate at our upcoming Science Festival in Rustenburg on the 14th and 15th of October 2017 through showcasing Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics in your field.
Our science festival theme looks at STEM innovations and achievements as well as trends for the future in STEM, while increasing the interest of the public through showcasing STEM as attractive, relevant and accessible and therefore facilitating public engagement.
How you can be involved
There are several ways you can choose to participate
- Exhibition Stand – this will run throughout the day and will showcase your area of STEM to the general public and learners
- Hold a workshop – this can be in the form of an interactive workshop where attendees are introduced to a STEM topic or activity.
- Conduct a public lecture – to present to the public a topic on STEM innovation, achievements and or STEM future trends.
General information
Registration form must be completed and returned before the 15th of July 2017 and we will allocate available space on a first come basis.
The form must be signed by an authorised person. By signing the exhibition registration form, the booking is binding.
Exhibition stands must be completed, ready and manned by 08:00 on 14th and 15th of October 2017, in the allocated area. Workshop and Lecture set up must be ready 1 hour before start time.

- Space for exhibitions includes: 1 table, electrical supply. Additional services are available on request
- Lunch and refreshments will be provided on both days

- Your organisations name and link to your website will be put on the Thanda STEM Science Festival website.
- Public Lecture presenters will be showcased on our Thanda STEM Science Festival Website.
- You will have access to over 5,000 learners and general public to showcase your work in STEM and therefore contribute towards your outreach and marketing goals.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FORPARTICIPATORS
1.Application forParticipation
In order to be considered for the Exhibition, an application form must be completed and signed by an authorisedindividual, and delivered to the P-STEMbefore the deadline.
The P-STEM reserves the right to refuse any application to exhibit without giving cause. Exhibition space is allotted according to first come basis and in line with the festival’s theme.
Participantsshould note that they are responsible for all costs incurred, travel and accomodation etc are NOT the responsibility of the P-STEM.
2.Obligations and Rights of the P-STEM
The P-STEMreserves the right to revise the time and location of the exhibition or to shorten the duration of the exhibition. Any change regarding the time and duration of the exhibition does not entitle the sponsor/exhibitor to cancel the contract nor to request a fee reduction or to put forward a claim for damages incurred by these P-STEM changes.
3.Liability Insurance
The Organiser provides third party insurance at the Festival site. Equipment and all related display materials installed by exhibitors are not insured by the P-STEM and they will under no circumstances be liable for any loss, damage or destruction caused to equipment, goods or property belonging to exhibitors. The participant agrees to be responsible for their property and personnel, and for the property and personnel and for any third party who may visit his space to be covered by full and comprehensive insurance, The P-STEM will not be liable for any injuries to the personnel of sponsors/exhibitors attending the meeting.
4.Set-up of exhibition booths
Booths must be set up and completed during the timeframe designated. The P-STEMreserves the right to demand changes in such booths or exhibits should safety regulations, technical requirements, or the responsibility of preserving or obtaining the best possible overall image for the exhibition, as judged by the P-STEM, so require. The side and back walls of all stands should be finished on the outside as well as the inside.
5.Dismantling of booths
The Exhibitor must dismantle the booth within the allotted time and return hired furnishings on time. Upon leaving, the Exhibitor must clear the booth area and clean the floor. Stored materials, empty containers and packing materials must be disposed of.
