Responsibilities
Ensuring Safe and Normal Operation of the Plant by working as team with the Operators, Technicians, and Other Dept Supervisors and immediately reporting to the Production Superintendent all the Defects and consulting to take necessary action. Preparing DPR Reports, Mid Night Reports, Permit To Work and Isolation Registers, Short Term Isolation Register, Long Term Isolations Register, Fire and Gas Override Check Lists, Preparing Production (Oil, Water and gas) Charts (Daily, Monthly and Cumulative) etc. Preparing PMR- Production Maintenance Request for the equipments to be repaired, Preparing Permits, Risk Assessments, Tool Box Talk, Process and Mechanical Isolation Certificates and recording all for future reference.
Take Charge as Permit Coordinator and Issue Permits for Jobs from Production Dept, Maintenance Dept, E/Room Dept, Cargo Dept and take necessary control measure for safe work practice onboard. Ensure all work Permits are accounted and Permit Board in CCR having all Permit Copies for the day and to audits on all permits.
Effectively following and keeping record of Pump Running Times, Monthly pump Change Over Routines, Bi-Weekly Lock Open & Lock Close Register, Annual PSV Testing Register, Annual Pipe line thickness testing, Chemical Injection Rates and Chemical Stock etc.
Effectively Coordinating with the Production operators, CRO and Lead Production Technician and ensuring smooth operation of Plant and Equipments at all time. Assisting Production Superintendent for all Modifications and Work to be carried out in the Plant and reporting all Deficiencies and Malfunctioning of Equipment to him immediately.
Panel Board Operation:
Ensuring safe operation from Start up to normal operation and bringing down the Down Time to the minimum is my Objective as a Control Room Operator. Operation of Process Plant and F&G System from Control Room with SIEMENS Process Suit Vision panel and Monitoring the Correct Operation of all plant and equipment. Controlling the process operation from the CCR, Start up procedures after Shut Down, Analyzing Cause and Effects, Resetting Causes and Effects, immediate actions in case of emergency, controlling Slug. Operating all control valves (LCV, PCV, TCV, FCV), Setting Operating values for all Control Valves, SDV, Fire and Gas System (FGS) (TYCO Fire and Gas Panel for Accommodation) Flame Detectors, Gas Detectors, Smoke Detectors, Water and Foam Deluge Skid, Hi-Expansion Foam, Fire Fighting Pumps, Foam Pumps, ESD, PSD, Acknowledging all alarms and take immediate corrective action as required. Reporting to Supervisor in case of any malfunction of Instruments and commanding to the Production operators/ Technicians as and when assistance needed, Thorough Knowledge of SBM PTW system and supporting Paper Work, Isolation Standards, Risk Assessment, Tool Box Talk and their application and had acted as Permit Coordinator. Taken Charge as Acting Production Supervisor and giving Clear Report of Deficiencies and Malfunctioning of Equipment to Production Superintendent and to propose Solutions for rectifying problems. Monitoring and Operation of Fuel Gas System (HP & LP), Alstom Power Turbine driven 3 stage Centrifugal Compressors, Two Stage Screw Compressors, TEG, Glycol Regeneration Unit, Gas Injection Unit, Utilities like Sea Water Lift, Cooling Medium Unit, Heating Medium, Nitrogen, Instrument Air etc.
Well Head:
Familiar and operational knowledge off Opening & Closing Well Head valves (Christmas Tree) like Wing valve, Master valve, Crown Valve, SSSV, SSV, (Single & Dual completion), Sub Sea well operation manually in the Local Control Panel or from the CCR, STHP, FTHP, Choke manifold operation, Adjustable Chokes, Resetting Wells, Operating Knowledge of Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU) for maintaining pressure in HP, MP and LP Hydraulic Pressure Lines for operating the Sub Sea valves, Operating Topside Umbilical Termination Unit (TUTU).
Well Testing:
Flowing the well through various sizes of chokes through Test Manifold and diverting the well into the Test Separator for finding individual performance of well, operating & normalizing with different size of orifice plate to measure the quantity of gas. Oil & water rate is measured by Flow Transmitters. Taking Routine Sampling to find the BS&W, API and Salinity in Crude.

Oil Processing

Familiar with Operation Off HP, IP (MP), LP, Test Separators, Produced Water Vessels, Electro Static Treater (De salination), Crude/Heating Medium Heat Exchangers, Crude/Crude Heat Exchangers, Crude Oil Pumps, Knock Out Drums, Operation off SDV, BDV, PSV, Control Valves like PCV, LCV, FCV, TCV, Pig Launching and Receiving operations, manual operation off all control valves, Adjusting the Set points off all control valves for smooth operation off plant from panel. Also monitoring all Levels, Temperatures, Pressures and informing the CCR if any abnormalities.

Gas Compression Unit

Familiar with Gas Compression Unit and Familiar with Gas Injection into wells designed for that, Gas Lift Wells and Gas Export. Familiar with Two Stage Man Turbo Screw Compressors, Coolers, Lub Oil Circulation, Scrubbers, Three Stage Alstom Turbine Driven Centrifugal Gas Compressors, 1st, 2nd and 3rd stage gas scrubbers, 1st, 2nd, 3rd stage coolers, 4 Stage Reciprocating Compressors (HS Compression, Singapore) and all pre start checks and operating philosophy of any Gas Compressors.
Gas Sweetening Unit:
Familiar with Gas Treatment, Treatment of Sour Gas (Amine Process). In our site we used Amine Process for Removal of H²S& Co². Familiar with HP Absorber, MP Absorber, KOD, Heat Exchanger, Flash Vessel, Reflux Drum RE-Boilers, Lean/Rich amine exchanger, Multistage Centrifugal Pumps, Vapour Compressors, Filter Package unit etc
Gas De Hydration Unit/ Glycol Regeneration Unit:
Familiar with Coaleascer separator, Glycol Contactor, Glycol Filter, Glycol recovery scrubber, Glycol Flash Drum, Glycol Filter, Active Carbon Filter, Lean/ Rich Glycol Exchangers, Glycol Stripper, Glycol still Column, Re – Boilers, Circulation/Transfer/Booster Pumps, Coolers, reflux condenser, Maintaining Glycol PH etc.
Veolia Package- Reverse Osmosis Unit, Sulphur Recovery unit and Water Injection Unit
Familiar with Water Injection System and Water Injection Wells. We have 4 Water Injection Wells of capacity of Injecting 125 M3/Hr (3000 M3/d) and maintaining the Reservoir pressur to the maximum allowable pressure (225 bara). Have excellent knowledge to start RO unit. Handling High Pressure Pumps, Membranes, Flare water Pumps. Back flushing membranes in auto as and manual mode. Changing filters if high differential pressure, preparing Chemical Batch like Meta bisulphate and Antiscale batch.
Have Excellent knowledge on Operation of Fine Filters, High pressure SRP Pumps, Guard Filters, SRP membranes, Dearator Tower, Vacuum Pumps, High pressure Injection Pumps. Have good experience on Veolia Waters Package of Water Injection.
Have good experience of CIP activities for SRP and RO units.
Utilities And Offsite Areas.
The utility consists of (1) Sea Water system, (2) Cooling/Heating Medium System (3) Compressed air system, (4) Nitrogen System (5) Flair System (6) Process of Waste Water System.
(1) Sea water system:
Seawater lift Pumps are used to feed sea water to the topside for Coolers in Cooling Medium System, Produced Water Coolers, Turbine Coolers, Feed to Fresh Water Generation Units. Familiar with operation off Sea Water Lift Pumps, Fine Filters, Lube Oil Circulation Pumps, Lube Oil Pressure Pumps, Sea Water Coarse Filters etc.
(2) Cooling/Heating Medium System:
Cooling Medium to cater to total cooling requirement for process plants. Cooling water system consists of cooling Medium Vessel, Cooling water re-circulation pumps, Coarse Filters, Exchangers, Cooling fans, chemical dosing facilities, chlorine dosing to check microbiological growth, chemical dosing for corrosion, scale deposit control.
Heating Medium to cater to total Heating requirement for process plants. Heating Medium system consists of Heating Medium Vessel, Heating water re-circulation pumps, Heating Medium/Steam Heat Exchangers (Steam from Boiler Unit from Engine Room), Filters, Chemical Dosing facilities.
(3) Compressed Air System:
Two Air Compressor is used for instrument air and Service air, which is required for blowing and operating pneumatic tools and instrument air is required for instrumentation equipment’s such as control valves, shut down valves etc. .The system consists of compressor, instrument air dryers and air receivers. Service Air Compressor also can be used as a substitute for Instrument Air Compressor in failure off Instrument Air compressor for Smooth Operation off Plant.
(4) Water Injection System
Familiar with Sulphur Recovery Unit (SRP), HP pumps, Guard Filters, RO Membranes, De aerator, Water Injection Pumps, Vacuum Pumps, Bull Heading System, Pig Launcher. Etc.
Nitrogen System (N2)
Familiar with Genaron membrane type N2 Skid and operating and troubleshooting of any problems related to N2 Production. Familiar with the COSHH and Dangers of N2 and actions required before using N2.
Flare System:
Have Experience with Pilot Gas(Propane Bottles) Flare Lit Up Panel. Flare System has been provided for safe deposit of flammable, toxic or corrosive vapours discharged by pressure relief system. Tile flare system consists of HP, LP and Cold header, HP and LP Flare KOD, Condensate Discharge pumps, a water seal drum, and Heating Medium Supply for maintaining Temperature in Knock Out Boot..
Process of waste water system (PWS):
Have good Experience of handling Flotation unit and Hydro cyclone Unit. Oil/ gas sector generates large volume of waste water containing oil, Suspended solids, dissolved solids etc. Oil and dissolved solids are normally in very high concentration besides high salinity. Treatment of such water to meet the standards lay down by statutory bodies (Oil in Water Content below 40 ppm) and safe disposal of sludge generated from the treatment system. Facilities are provided to pump it out to the out let off Hp sep using stripping pumps if not meet standards.
Safety:
Attending all type of Safety Drills (Fire, Gas and PAPA alarms) and immediately reporting to the Muster Station. Personally involved in SEARCH TEAM and under take Searching operations in process areas in case of Foreign Objects Onboard, Person Injured On Topside Process etc. Able to work as per SBM - FMPP Safety Work Permit System (HOT, COLD & Space Entry), Conducting Tool Box Talks, Wearing PPE as required, Handling Materials as per Materials Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), Handling Chemicals as per Control of Substance Hazardous to Health (COSHH). Operation and testing (Wet & Dry) of Deluge System (Foam and water Deluge), Manual Activated Call Points (MAC), operating Fire Monitors, Fire Hydrants, all type of portable Fire Extinguishers (CO2, Dry Chemical Powder, Foam), Portable Gas detectors, UV Gas detectors, Fire Detectors, Smoke Detectors, Testing off Fire Water Pumps etc. Undertaking safety audits and encourage people working safely and taking immediate corrective actions if any unsafe activities observed.
Responsibilities :
·  Ensuring safe operation from Start up to normal operation and bringing down the down Time to the minimum
·  Directing, Controlling and supervising the activities assigned by the Field Production Superintendent (FPS) to the safe and effective operation of the Plant and Equipments.
·  Coordinate with the CRO, Plant Operators, Maintenance Dept and E&I Dept for smooth and safe operation of the Production Operation.
·  Ensuring the Specifications of the Crude are met before Discharging by Routine Sampling. – BS&W – 0.5 %, Salinity – 80 mgl/PTB, Accounting API at regular intervals for finding average API for the day and to find the total volume of crude exported at 600F.
·  Ensuring the Production and Injection Plan is adhered.
·  Ensuring effective actions are taken during shutdowns in order to avoid hydrate formation in Subsea flow lines.
·  Issuing work permits and verifying all the isolation Certificates (Mechanical/Process Isolation Certificate, Safety System Isolation Certificate, High/Low Voltage Electrical isolation and maintaining the Lock out Box system before issuing the Permit for doing a Job Safely.
·  Maintaining Register of all Cold Work, Hot Work permits, Short Term and Long Term Isolation Registers for future verification
·  Maintaining the Lock Close/ Lock Open register.
·  Preparing work permits (HOT, COLD), Risk Assessments, Tool Box Check List, Attaching Supporting documents like COSHH, VSI, SSIC etc as per the nature of Job.
·  Giving effective training to the Production Technicians regarding the Process Operation
