CAMP DESCRIPTION & ACTIVITIES
The Climbing Certificate camp run over 4 days & 3 nights will include a number of Indoor Climbing practical sessions, a theory component, Abseiling from both a manmade & natural surface & an Outdoor Climbing trip to Kangaroo Point. At the completion of the camp students will have been given a comprehensive introduction to rock climbing, understand the associated safety procedures and have a basic knowledge of equipment and knots.
Accommodation will be camping in tents at Mt Nimmel Lodge, a private property located approx. 15 mins drive from Mudgeeraba on Austinville Rd. Students will need to provide their own sleeping bag & pillow, plates and eating utensils. Students can bring their own tents if available otherwise they will be supplied by either Paramount or All Saints. An equipment list will be provided by Paramount to assist students in preparing equipment required for the camp.
All catering is provided by Paramount with breakfast & dinners at the camp location and packed lunches supplied when groups are at offsite activities. Students will be required to assist in the washing up and clearing up at mealtimes.
All bus transfers to / from school and to / from activity locations will be provided by Paramount.
During the campAll Saints staff will be responsible for the discipline of the students at all times and ensuring they are assembled on time ready for all activity sessions or at bus departure points with the correct clothing, sunscreen, footwear, etc. Occasionally staff will be required to assist with harnessing / unharnessing students and the unclipping of ropes after abseiling. Staff are also asked to accompany students to any of the activity locations which may require a short hike or bushwalk to reach. As we will be accessing private properties and other environments throughout this camp it is expected that all rubbish taken into these areas is also removed afterwards.
NB: Paramount will supply drinking water at all activities however we strongly recommend that each student also carries their own 2ltr water bottle.
