Meetings are held each week

We will meet every Thursday @9:45 in Ms. Edwards’s room.

Students will bring their purple folders with all documents (bylaws, grade sheet, community service log, and demerit slip)

·  Voting of Officers- Please elect the following( 4 students per position)

Officers and Duties

§  President- presides over all meetings, sets the agenda, serves as the official student representative for ROSEBUDS

§  Vice President- presides in the absence of the President, assists the organization and the tabulation of service points, helps with selection of committee members and solicits projects and ideas.

§  Secretary- Will record attendance for all meetings, records service points, delivers the roll sheets to the Vice President, and record minutes of each meeting.

§  Treasurer- Collects all monies, records and delivers the funds to the sponsors and reports money raised to the student council membership.

o  Dress Code

§  Please remember to follow the dress code every day. As a Rosebud, please remember our dress code on Thursday’s (no jeans or tennis shoes).

·  Community Service Projects

Each month we’ll focus on 2 community service projects. For example: book drive, clean school grounds, animal donations, nursing home visits.

Each student is expected to complete 20 community service hours before the end of the school year. The hours will be documented on the sheet located in the folder. If you should any questions about community service hours, please feel free to contact a sponsor.

·  Calendar of Events

o  Toy Drive-The Rosebuds will participate in the Toy Drive. Please bring a new toy to the Counseling Office by December 14th. There isn’t a value on the items, so you may purchase an item from the Dollar Store, Walmart, Target, etc. Each item donated, will give you 1 hour of community service. Please make sure your community service log is signed by Mrs. Nichols.

Peer Tutoring- Peer tutoring is mandatory every Tuesday from 4:15- 5:00 pm. Please meet in Ms. Smiths’ room (602) and sign in to receive credit.

WMS Clothing Swap and Shop- This is a fun way to promote recycling and giving back to the community. The Rosebuds will collect gently used shoes and clothes from students and teachers. Donors will receive ROSEBUCKS for every bag donated. Donors can come and shop with the ROSEBUCKS earned or donate their bucks to another student/family in need. All leftovers will be donated to local charity.
