Homework And Quizzes

Homework will be collected on a regular basis. Late homework will not be accepted. Copying the homework assignments from each other does not help you at all! Please consider the following criteria while doing your homework; otherwise you won’t get credit for the homework.

  1. Your homework needs to be organized and readable.
  2. Please staple your papers.
  3. Start every new section on a new page.

There will be no make-up quizzes. Each quiz will be similar to homework problems.

Exams

There will be four exams and two finals. If you are absent on the day of an exam, you will receive a zero for that exam; unless a life and death emergency situation occurs which you need to provide an official proof for that. There will be no make-up exams.

How to succeed in this course

  • Attend every class on time and do not leave class early.
  • Don’t be shy to ask your questions. Don’t wait for the last day of the class!
  • Even though I don’t have any office hours, we can arrange a time to discuss your problems.
  • Read the sections prior to the lecture, and reread it after the lecture.
  • Do your homework regularly. Once you have completed the homework assignment, read over the sections again and review the problems that you just have completed.
  • Get help from your classmates. Get together with a few peers for at least one study session each week to review each other’s homework problems and give practice questions to one another. Get to know at least three of your classmates, and get their phone numbers.
  • You need to spend at least 15 hours per week, outside of class, studying for this course.
  • Keep your private conversation with your classmates (Chit Chat) for outside the classroom. Too much talking and disrupting behavior are not acceptable in the classroom.
