JUNIORFUN DAY OF ACTIVITIES AND SPANISH DANCE CLASSES

The SDS takes pleasure in announcing that Sue Arkle and Theo Dantes will be conducting a junior fun day of activities and Spanish dance classes in London.

The SDS workshop will provide an ideal opportunity to capture the atmosphere of Spanish Dance in a friendly environment. Our expert teachers offer the young students the chance to develop their existing skills, increase their knowledge and create new opportunities.

The workshop is open to students between the ages of 7 – 11 years old. We look forward to welcoming the students to an exciting workshop!

SUE ARKLE

Sue trained in ballet, National (ISTD) and Spanish dance (SDS). She danced professionally with the Danza Lorca Company in South Africa. Additionally she is a qualified Pilates teacher. Over the past years, she has been guest teacher at many summer schools and workshops throughout the UK and Europe. Sue runs her own school of Spanish dance in Buckinghamshire and is a respected examiner for the Spanish Dance Society. The participants will enjoy her patient and careful teaching as well as her creative activities. The SDS welcomes her to the workshop.

THEO DANTES

Theo Dantes studied flamenco, classical and regional Spanish dancing in Spain and South Africa, his teachers included Mercedes Molina, Enrique Segovia, Joy Shearer, Pedro Azorin,Maria Eugenia "Betty", el Cojo and Mercedes y Albano. He started his professional career with the Mercedes Molina dance theatre and later in Spain danced with Rafael de Cordoba, Luisillo,and in the Zarzuela de Madrid under AlbertoLorca. Theo's work has taken him to 22 different countries performing,choreographing, teaching and examining. He is a founder member and senior examiner of the Spanish Dance Society. He has been invited for the third time to choreograph Spanish dance for the "Princess Margaret Awards’ evening, and will be repeating his lecture on flamenco at the University College of London. He is presently teaching at the Arts Educational School of London in Chiswick and at the Dance Attic Studios in Fulham. Theo's students range from 4years old to professional level. The SDS looks forward to his delightful classes and would like to welcome him warmly to the workshop.

LUNCH

Packed lunch and drinks or there is a small canteen at the studio. It is advisable that participants place their orders before the classes commence. There are many shops and restaurants nearby.

ENROLMENT

To ensure enrolment and avoid disappointment it is advisable to book early, as space is limited. Kindly return the enclosed enrolment form together with a cheque made payable to the SPANISH DANCE SOCIETY by the 17thFebruary 2012. No booking can be accepted without an enrolment form and cheque. Receipts will be given out on the first day. Should you require one beforehand or confirmation of the course, kindly send a self-addressed and stamped envelope with your enrolment form.

Spanish shoes / boots / character shoes or ballet shoes (if available)

Leotard and flamenco skirt / shirt and trouser / character skirt (if available)

CANCELLATION

Once a place has been booked on the workshop no refunds will be given if the place is cancelled for any reasons other than illness. In the case of illness 10 % of the fee will be refunded upon production of a doctor’s certificate no later than 7 days after the course. No refund is available if anyone does not attend the course due to transport problems; if anyone is dissatisfied with the course; if anyone falls ill or is injured during the course. Once a place has been booked it is not transferable to another person.

GENERAL

The SDS accepts no responsibility for any injury, loss of personal property, damage to personal property or accidents before, during or after the course.

Kindly note: The recording or taking of videos of the course is strictly prohibited. A fee will be charged if anyone attempts to do so.
