SERVING BY DONATING SERVING BOWLS

The Deacon’s are slowly updating kitchen needs, and during the next few weeks, we would like to address the need for nice looking, mid to large size serving bowls.

At this time, we have an assortment of odd sized, misfit bowls; some are attractive and some not so attractive. Some are for mixing; some are for serving, and some we haven’t figured out their purpose yet. Many are too small for a crowd; a few are extra-large and can only be used with a crowd but very few are just right. Many simply are unattractive and should not be used on a well-set table, particularly when we are putting our best foot forward and trying to set a table that represents our dedication to doing the best we can for everybody on any occasion.

The Deacon’s are asking everyone to take a good look at the number of serving bowls they have at home. Perhaps you could donate serving bowls you rarely if ever use, giving you additional space in your cupboard while answering a need in the church kitchen. Perhaps you know that this is a need you can meet without taxing yourself physically or financially. Perhaps you know that by doing this you are making an important contribution toward supporting functions hosted by your church.

Whatever moves you to help re-stock the serving bowl cabinet with some nice looking replacement bowls, the Deacon’s would genuinely be grateful for your consideration of this particular need.

Just bring your contribution into the kitchen and place it on the counter. You can remain anonymous if you so wish or you can leave a note with your name on it, either way, just know that you are appreciated.

Annual Community

Thanksgiving Day Dinner

Planning is now underway for this year’s Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner to be held on Thanksgiving Day November 22nd from 11:45 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at St. Leo’s Hall in the Assumption School. The dinner is free and for any family or individual who would otherwise be alone or without a dinner that day. This is a community venture, which counts on volunteers and donations from the community to make the dinner possible. Please call 263-5764 or 262-5513, email if you could help with this or to have a meal delivered if you are physically unable to get to the meal. We will provide rides to the school for those unable to drive.
