CLUB BASKETBALL FOR GIRLS

Kuna Youth Basketball is now offering a club option for the girls of Kuna!!!

KYBB will still be offering our recreational program as we have in the past, but this is an option to play a more competitive brand of basketball against other Club teams throughout the Treasure Valley. Our goal is to keep Kuna girls playing in Kuna and preparing them to play for the Middle School and High School. We are recommended and supported by the Kuna High School Basketball program, and we will teach the concepts and approaches they value. One of our main goals is to provide the High School Program with better players.

WHAT IS CLUB: What is the difference between Club ball and Rec Ball

  • In KYBB Rec ball, every kid that tries out makes a team! Teams are selected with the purpose of having an equal talent level on every team. The Rec teams play only other Rec teams in the program.
  • Club basketball is a more competitive brand of basketball. We will have only 1 club team per grade level. Players wishing to play for the Club team, will try out and only 8-10 kids per grade level will make the team. Kids not making the team will be placed in the Rec league to hone their skills and try and make it the next year. The Club teams will play other Clubs from throughout the Treasure Valley.

COSTS: We will be one of the most competitively priced Club in the Treasure Valley

  • Yearly initiation fee: $125 yearly fee.This covers uniform, gym time, insurance and practice equipment.
  • Monthly fees: $65 per month. This fee is used to purchase entrance into local tournaments.

SEASON: When does this start and how long does it run?

  • The season will start at the end of summer/ beginning of school year. There will be breaks for school ball for children playing middle school ball.
  • Exact dates of try outs are not set at this time, but KYBB clinics will be held throughout the summer to give your kids some exposure to our coaches.
  • The length of the season will generally run from late August to Mid March. But teams can continue longer, that would be dependent on commitments to other activities of the individual teams.

WHO CAN PLAY:

  • Any child attending a Kuna School. Based on interest level we will field teams from 4th through 8th grade. 3rd graders can play up if selected by 4th grade coach.
