Newsletter dated 2 May 2017

We hope you all had a lovely Easter and it is lovely to hear the nursery full again with the children’s play and chatter. A huge thank you to everyone who donated prizes and attended our fete, we raised a massive £370. We are using the monies to buy resources for the garden area ready for our gardening day on Saturday 13th May, the staff have decided they want to paint the fences, make a larger construction area and plant some more vegetables, sensory herbs and flowers.

During the past couple of months, we have said goodbye to Vicky Clarke and welcomed Lisa Stafford to the team. Also, Mitchell Brewin has joined Gemma Ford in undertaking their level 3 apprenticeships.

Training

The staff have quite a few courses booked for the next few months and this includes an Autism Education awareness training evening and Paediatric first aid training, all members of the Acorn team hold a valid paediatric first aid certificate. The whole team has been refreshing their safeguarding training taking into account the current Ofsted requirements.

Parents evening

Thank you to everyone who attended the parents evening and we hope you found the time beneficial. As is our usual open door practice, if you do have any concerns please feel free to chat to your child’s key person.

Thank you to the 36 parent/carers who took the time to complete our feedback form, we appreciate all of the feedback. 35 responses indicated that you feel well informed with what is happening at nursery and that they like to receive information updates via their child’s tapestry. Wewill use any suggestions made as a reflection tool to improve our current practice across the whole nursery.
