Who Are We?

Our Mission

The Neenah Animal Shelter exists to humanely care for lost, surrendered, neglected, impounded and abandoned pets until loving, forever homes are found for them.

OurLifeFirst™ philosophy is a commitment to nevereuthanize any animal because of lack of space orfunding, but to save, restore and rehome all adoptable animals under our care.

Our goal is to improve the quality and strength of thebond between people and their pets through education and example.

Saving Animals. Serving Community. The Neenah Animal Shelter has been serving Neenah and the surrounding areas since 1958. The Neenah Animal Shelter is not just in the community, we are part of the community. We're a comprehensive animal welfare organization offering services that benefit homeless pets, pet owners, animal lovers and animal advocates. We work collaboratively with you, other animal welfare organizations, law enforcement, and businesses to serve the community that has supported us so devotedly over the years.

We provide an array of services including adoptions, animal surrenders, and community outreach.

A Letter from our President

Dear Members and Supporters:

The Neenah Animal Shelter has been a vital part of the community for over 50 years, offering a place of refuge for stray, surrendered and abandoned animals. As president of the board of directors, my role, along with the board of directors, staff and volunteers, is to ensure that our shelter remains an integral part of Neenah and surrounding communities for many years to come.

In July of 2014, we introduced a new logo and tag line, “Saving Animals, Serving Community”, along with refreshed mission and vision statements to reflect our renewed commitment to better serving homeless animals and strengthening the bond between people and their pets. Out “LifeFirst™” philosophy represents our commitment to never euthanize any animal because of lack of space or funding, but save, restore and rehome all adoptable animals in our care.

Supporting this renewed commitment, our long-term goal is to build a new shelter with the space to significantly improve housing for our animals, enhance community programs, and provide more efficient space for our staff and volunteers.

Our passion and vision is unlimited but our funding is not. There are many initiatives that are helping us build a foundation for the future. Please read this report, and if you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me.

On behalf of our board, staff, and volunteers, and the hundreds of homeless animals we serve each year, thank you for your compassion and support. You make us possible!

Sincerely,

Kay M. Pavlik

President

Our Stories

Alex

Alex has been at his new forever home for almost a month. He gets along fine with his new cat buddy Rosebud and seems to be adjusting well. Already he has found his favorite places like the sun room to hang out. We go for walks everyday so he is investigating his neighborhood for new sights and smells. Any chance he gets to be snuggled on somebody's lap he takes advantage of. Alex is definitely happy with his new home.

Finn

Finn is the most loving pet! We are so blessed to have him. He is our daily entertainment and while he is most comfortable getting hugs and belly rubs, he loves to play and chase the catnip mouse on an elastic cord I made for him. Finn is enjoying meeting the family and getting used to being the center of attention at our house.

Gray aka Nimbus

What a joy this kitten has been!

Before we adopted him, the description on your website said he didn't like dogs.

That was spot on. He pitched a fit at my daughter's lab and cocker spaniel.....but he had to stay there while we were on vacation.

He has since changed his ways, and they became the best of friends.

We are so happy he is ours.
